Never been to Spain before and never really fancied it. We decided to go 2008. We got a cheap flight BMI baby to Madrid and hired a car. We then traveled to Toledo and stay one night in a hotel called the Casona de la Reyna great hotel and cheap its a great place to see. We then traveled to Granada a place nearby called Santa Fe. Fantastic place, tapas free with your drink the food is amazing. We booked to see the Alhambra a must see. We then travelled to Seville SO HOT and really hard to drive so park and walk but stay in the shade. Stayed in Hotel Murillo really good value and excellent place to stay. Could not go out to eat in evening until about 10.00 pm because its so HOT. We went on the bus tour and sat inside because it is too hot to sit on top??? of bus. We than went back to Granada and had a day in Almeria , a day in Sierra Nevada and spent our last two days in Madrid. Stayed in a hotel called the Vincci Capitol off the Gran Via we were on floor 9 and we had our own balcony with table and chairs sun loungers and views to die for. Really good value for the quality of hotel. We would definatley recommend Spain its has so much to offer. Driving is amazing on the main motorways no traffic for miles just open road and olive trees bliss.
