“GOOD BRIGHT BREAKFAST”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2014

The hotel is situated on the edge of the old town next to the pleasant wooded historic cemetery and near to the Bauhaus University and the Park on the River Ilm.

Reception was efficient. A €1 / night surcharge (some sort of City Tax) is added to advertised prices.

The room was fair sized (single occupancy of double), a little old-fashioned in decor, but OK. Bed a little soft, thin curtains let in the light. Television with one channel in English. Lots of storage space. Effective heating. Clean. I had asked for and been given a room on a higher (2nd) floor overlooking the cemetery, so pleasant view of trees and quiet (the other side is on a busier exit road, but not that busy, Weimar is a small town). Minibar in the corridor.

Functional shower-room, with basic liquid soap and shower gel. Effective heating. Clean.

Breakfast was the highlight: served in a pleasant bright room overlooking the trees of the cemetery. A good cold buffet selection with quality materials: fruit salad, muesli, cheese, cake &c. Friendly staff.

I'd stay again for value, the location and breakfast.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the cemetery will be quieter.

When you arrive it looks more like an apartment block, but once through the door it all changes. From the warmth of the welcome by the friendly helpful staff, to the quiet clean rooms, it's all you need for a stay. The breakfast buffet is perfect and continually well stocked. How many times do you arrive late to find you have the leftovers, but not here. Rooms are more on te smaller size but adequate, although for big tall guy like me, you need to move around with care in the bathroom.

Room Tip: Top floor but no lifts

We stayed one night at Hotel Furstenhof in Weimar, and the location was perfect for access to the Altstadt. Just a few minute's walk gets you into the heart of Weimar; the Rathaus, Markt, the Deutsches Nationaltheater, and both Goethe and Schiller's houses. The hotel staff was friendly; the rooms clean and safe, and the breakfast very good. The management has done a nice job making the rooms in this lovely old building comfortable. Street parking is convenient to the hotel, but payment by Parkschein.

Room Tip: Note: technically no restaurant, but the breakfast was very good.

The hotel is located close to the town center (5-10 mn walk). The welcome at reception desk was very friendly, thank you to the young lady who gave good information for a restaurant. The rooms were not so large but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was nice. The rooms on the park are quiet but the ones on the main street are quite noisy if you need to open the window. Note that there is no lift. On the whole a nice place.

Hotel is little and nice, location is good. People there very friendly. Breakfast good, with good choice of fruit and yogurt. The thing i liked a little less is the room decoration, very basic, kind of old style. But in general had a good stay, if I am back to Weimar I will stay there.

Free wi-fi connection.

We stayed a couple of days in the hotel. It is really well located just 5 mins walk from the main part of town and the Goethe Haus Museum.

The room was comfortable if a little small, but good enough for the star rating and price. It was clean and well made up each day. No air con so it did get a little warm in the room and with the windows open the roads near the hotel made it a bit noisy, but not a major issue.

Breakfast was included in our rate and was a good continental breakfast standard. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
