“Excellent location and service but very hot room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Service and location were excellent as is value for money. Unfortunately we stayed on a very warm evening and there is no airconditioning. In addition we were in rooms over looking the river which had beautiful views but which were very noisy when we opened the windows to get fresh air in the evening. In the future i would forgo the view and ask for a room at the back. I would stay here again. Stephanie at reception was wonderful and could not have been more helpful.

This a charming hotel with a great location. It's right by the water, with eveningsun, and it's close to the old town. We stayed on the top floor, and the elevator was very slow. The room was light, clean and nice. A bit "over furnitured" though, it was hard to get in to the bathroom.

Conveniently located along the water and fortified door, Jensen hotel was a step more enjoyable. The staff is very attentive and is not short of advice. You can, without fear, book a table for dinner: sea bream in one piece, a real treat, with a dry white wine from the Moselle valley : what more to fully appreciate the hotel.
I thank all staff for its kindness allowed us to finish pleasantly our vacation .

I chose this hotel as this hotel is a walking distance to the train station and the center, a very convenient hotel to stay in. The room is clean but the bed is not that comfortable. Instead of air conditioner, you have a standing fan to circulate the air inside the room. The window is not usable as my room is not facing the street. The internet is free but you will need to register it with the reception who are really helpful. There are not many variety of food for breakfast but enough. The restaurants along the same side of the hotel gives very nice experiences and they have good food! Definitely a nice hotel to stay in.

Stayed for 2 nights, really good location to see Lubeck, easy walking distance to many sights, facing the river and just through the medieval town gates. Room was big enough without being extremely spacious, 1st room we were given was 2 single beds at front of hotel and we asked to be moved, which they did to double room at back of hotel. All staff were very friendly and helpful with good english. Parking was a few miniutes walk away, but not too bad considering it is a very old town; 6 euros / night. Breakfast was a little of a let down due to nothing hot and the fruit not fresh but some form of preserved / syrup fruit. All areas were clean and tidy, everytihng worked. Restaurant was pretty good too, about going rate for the area - £40 to £50 for a meal for two. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Front of hotel might be noisy.

We have stayed at hotel Jensen a couple of times on our way to Italy, and I can definately recomende this hotel. The atmosphare at Jensen is always friendly and in a way cosy. The staff is always friendly and helpeful. The rooms are quite ordinary, but always very clean. Brekfast is ofcause included and very good. The hotel also has very good restaurant downstairs with outside dining If you want.

We went for a weekend in old Lubeck, and you certainly could not wish for a better location! We came by train, and it´s only ten minutes walk to the hotel.
Not the very newest design, but very friendly, nice wiews from both rooms, and a very good breakfast even if there was no hot food (bacon, sausages etc). Very reasonable price for this location and standard. Amazingly quiet!!
Pillows much too big, but that´s rather a rule in hotels, so I always bring my own.
