“Family visit for a wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

The hotel did a lovely presentation for the family for this wedding. The reception was outstanding, service great, and the food wonderful. The hotel was convenient for walking to and around the lovely city. The room was very comfortable, good bed. All in all a lovely stay.

- very nice large room (this was a standard room) with great view over the canal.
- excellent breakfast buffet, Radisson is always a safe breakfast place.
- under ground garage.

Cons:
- none

Lübeck is a beautiful and historic city and an extremely convenient hotel is the Radisson Blu Senator Hotel just a stone's throw from the famous Holsten Gate, the symbol of Lübeck. The room we had was large and comfortable with a large bathroom complete with a bathtub. Also it is within a short walk from the railroad station. The Trave runs right below the lawn on the rear side of the hotel with a great view of the old city center. Since there is a coffee maker in the room one can avoid the rather pricy breakfast at the hotel by wandering over the bridge to find a nice bite in the old city.

This hotel is excellent in all regards. Nice location at the river, walking distance from downtown, yet plenty of parking (you have to pay, though). The rooms are super clean, even for German standards, and very quiet. Beds very comfortable with down pillows and comforters. The breakfast buffet is amazing, almost like a country club buffet. It has meat, fish, vegetables, eggs, ham, bacon, bread, cook-to order omelettes, cereal, fruit, seasonal specialties, juices, and much more. The spa like exercise area has different types of saunas and a nice pool. I would definitely come here again.

Room Tip: Check your room for the view, the ones along the river are the nicest.

Stayed here for one night whilst travelling back from Sweden and had a very enjoyable time. The hotel was a little hard to find but once there, it is in a great location to walk into the old town. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay and the breakfast was fantastic.
The only negative comment I would make is that our rooms did seem a little dated décor-wise but having said that, they were spacious and comfortable.

I would love to spend a bit more time in Lubeck as it is a really pretty town and would have no hesitation in staying at the Radisson Blu again if we did.

We arrived early about 11, and there were no room ready for us. This was to be expected, so we parked our car in the garage in the basement and went for a walk. When we came back at around 1300 we got a room. The room was nice with view to the river and the old town.

Nice spacious reception area and pleasant persons in reception who also spoke good english.

Convenient parking in the basement with elevator directly to your room floor.

From the hotel it's just a short walk to one of Lübecks main touristattractions, the Holstentor. Then walk across a bridge and you find an area with several restaurants that serves food and drinks by the riverside. Walk even a little bit further and you find yourself in the middle of the old town with the typical Hansa-architecture.

Breakfast is outstanding with everything one could wish for in a german breakfast and even more. They also had seasonal extras to chose for breakfast, this time it was different variations of fresh cheese. Eggs to order, cooked anyway you wanted by a chef present.

Check-out was again swift and efficient.

This was my second stay in this hotel, and I don't mind coming back.
