“Large Group of West Ham United Fans..fantastic Hotel .”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

Booked a large group of West Ham United fans for their pre-season tour of Eastern Germany. Over 30 rooms booked of all types and not one complaint. Leipzig is a very under-rated City compared to Dresden but it deserves more custom.

Position is right in the mixer, the staff were always helpful and every member of the group was treated with great respect.

Huge thanks to Marei and Gabriele in making the arrangements easy.

The location is the strong point of this hotel. The view of Augustusplatz from the front window is breathtaking. It is also ideally located to walk into the old town or to catch a tram, since all the lines cross right in front of the hotel. The train station is 10 minutes walk away.
The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable, soundproof and with a quiet air conditioning, but the bathroom is nonexistent, being a niche of the bedroom itself, with only the toilet enjoying a minimum of privacy, whereas the shower cabin has transparent glazing. The room is well lit but which switch controls which light is really difficult to understand. Also, the magnetic key card was faulty and had to be replaced several times.
Overall, the inside of the hotel is rather “concept”, with cold, ultra-modern settings. It is impossible to find the bar, and also the restaurant does its best to pass unnoticed. The cold atmosphere is also reflected in the attitude of the staff who just do their job, but nothing more. The poor hospitality is reflected in many details: the lack of a courtesy computer in the lounge, but you can buy time vouchers (very expensive), nor in a WiFi connection in the rooms, though an Ethernet cable is available for your own laptop. Even the water on the table has a price tag (3€). Though the room price is reasonable, 19€ per person for the breakfast is definitely too much.

Dear Guest,

many thanks for your detailed comments to our hotel, which we take very serious. The bar at the moment is integrated in the restaurant, but does not look like one, due to the open style. This willl be changed, building plans for a real bar are already on the way. Same with the missing wifi, where the new Internet system is being installed at teh moment and should be in place by August this year.
Nevertheless, lookign forward welcoming you again to the great city of Leipzig.
With best regards

I stayed here for 7 days June 2012 while on a business trip.

Wonderful location, easy access to city center and trams to get any where, the main train station is walking distance or a short tram ride away.

Breakfast is way over priced at 19 euros, plenty of other better places to eat cheaper nearby for those not on a corporate account or on a budget.

No spa or pool. Fitness center is small but clean and well equipped with treadmill and free weights.

We stayed in this hotel for one night. It was on the pricier side, but I think it is totally worth it. You cannot beat the location of this hotel: it is right across the Gewandhous and less than five minutes to the old city, including St. Thomas Church, a location dear to heart to all admirers of J.B. Bach. It is also right across the old city. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. Our rom had a wonderful view of the city. The service is superb: the personnel are multilingual, polite, fast, accurate, and very helpful in general. We were in Leipzig for the first time and their recommendations helped us a lot to make the best of our short visit.

Stayed in Radisson Blu during Wave Gotik Treffen 2012 and was nothing but happy. Service minded staff, nice rooms and located just perfect.

Was a bit pricy, but well worth it.

The good: The location can't be beat if you are looking to stay in Leipzig city center. It's a short stroll from the main train station and adjacent to all of the shops and restaurants/cafes in city center. While the property isn't much to look at from the outside, the inside is beautiful, clean and welcoming. A wonderful surprise. The staff were very helpful, our room was a business class upgrade and was extremely well appointed, roomy and comfortable.

Lots of pluses: A fabulous shower, Nespresso coffee maker, very comfortable bed, lovely sitting area with a huge flat screen tv, couch and lounge and work desk. The restaurant had a fantastic breakfast every morning and the dinner we enjoyed one evening was the best of our trip. Everything was unbelievably delicious.

One big minus: No WiFi...anywhere. Not even in the lobby. For a property of this class, it really should have it. I will be back to Leipzig and would love to stay here again, but WiFi is critical for me.

Dear guest,

many thanks for you comments to our hotel! It is wonderful to read so many great thinks.
WiFi though we do have at the moment in the lobby available. The WiFi system for the whole hotel including all public areas and rooms is currently installed with quite some investment and will be in place by end of July.
looking forward welcoming you any time soon to Leipzig

Overall, its a good Hotel. Location perfect and does most things a business hotel needs to do. Sleep quality excellent, and fine bedding and top notch bathroom. Bar service can be slow if the staff are elsewhere. We gave up waiting to be served one evening after waiting 15 minutes.

However no Wifi is terrible. I travel with an Ipad only these days and your stuffed. Wired internet only is prehistoric and I found myself sat in Starbucks to try and do some work stuff. They need to fix this quickly. Other than that, Id stay here again next time Im here in 2 years.

Dear guest,

many thanks for your great feedback. We also see it the same in the hotel, that WIFI nowadays is crutial to business travelers like you. So therefore we are implementing that system with a quite high investment in our hotel. WIFI maintanance should be finished by end of July, so by August you will be able to connect WIFI all over the hotel and in the rooms.
Hoping to see you also next time in Leipzig
