“Two star hotel with five star arrogance”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

This hotel chain is developed from a lean strategy and the concept may have worked well if it wasn't for the terrible service we experienced. The hotel is well situated and the small rooms are nicely decorated, but never have I been treated this way in a hotel! The extremely arrogant Mr. Jörg at the front desk seemed to take a personal pleasure in humiliating us. First he gave us the farthest room at the outer corner of the sixth floor ( we had a lot of luggage and it was 35 degrees celsius). Secondly, he was extremely rude when asked if the wifi doesn't support Mac (it just doesn't!) and if the hotel did have a safe (it's a 2 star hotel, he spat, when a simple no would have done). At the end we left the hotel for another. My advice: If he still works there, then avoid him or don't go!

Room Tip: Avoid the sixth floor - we waited 8 (!) minutes for the lift!

I've stayed at Motel One 6 times, in 6 years and think it is the perfect hotel to explore Leipzig from.
Easy walk from Central station. Close to many restaurants, the Opera house, and the University.

The rooms are small, but modern.
The service is excellent.

My ownly complaint is the air conditioning, which is centrally controlled.
I have found the hotel gets very stuffy in Spring and Summer, and particularly in your room. However, you are unable to adjust it down in your room, so it can get very hot, and if it is hot outside, there is no point in opening the window. Although I find this is a general issue in Germany.

Definitely recommend Motel One though!

Good location in the center or Leipzig. Close to the station, many car parks around.

Nice rooms, good beds, typical motel one.
Checkin/out flawless.

There is nothing to complain, paid 64€ for one night and got a good room and bed.
Very good value for your money.

Really enjoyed my stay; in the heart of all the action. Service very good especially when I was in a difficult circumstance. Only suggestion is to have phone in room. Otherwise, very good use of space, excellent breakfast, great experience.

This was really the perfect location: less than ten minutes direct walk to train station, across the street from a grocery store, and a quick walk to the old town, most esp. the St. Thomas Church, where we heard the GORGEOUS St. John's Passion. The free WiFi was much appreciated as was the clean, comfortable room with an excellent hot shower. The room and hotel had a pretty design, and a fireplace video in the room playing German classical music--loved it! At 69 euro a night for a double (we didn't buy breakfast) this was a good value.

Very stylish and clean hotel. Internet in the rooms, tv. Rooms are very nice and have everything that is needed.
Very good location, quite street, 5 mins from the main train station, restaurants and shops nearby.
Breakfast is good too, nice view from room and when having a breakfast.
Would definitely stay there again. Good for business, family, or group trips.

Room Tip: Have a room with a view on a cathedral on the opposite side of the street.

A very modern hotel just newly built in the heart of the city, only five minutes walk to the train station. The hotel has very modern facilities and high speed Wifi. There are two parking areas, one is the garage and there is another parking area where you wont have any problems with parking.
