“Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2009

In terms of the comfort, cleanliness, size and design of my room, this hotel compared very favourably with a 5 star hotel in Paris where I stayed in Paris two weeks earlier - and the room in Paris was 1,010 euros a night. The location of the QF hotel in Dresden couldn't be better and because there is little traffic in the square outside, the rooms are quiet. For what it's worth, the breakfast is above average. I'm lucky to be put up in five star hotels quite often and I can honestly say that the QF puts some of them to shame. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on business or pleasure.

The hotel is very well located in the central square of the old town. The design characterized as modern. The rooms are spacious. Do no except to find anyone in the hotel bar. The QF shopping center is also good. Very good restaurants in a walking distance. The city after 23:00 is sleeping.

I booked a room at Hotel QF 5 months in advance. BEfore my wife and I were able to visit Germany and stay in this hotel, we were hit by a huge truck and are now unable to walk, let alone travel across country. I emailed several times to the hotel asking them to please be kind and understanding not to charge me for the room due to our extreme circumstances. They would not help us in any way and charged us for the full price. The customer service at this hotel is the worst I have EVER experienced. I would understand if I just wanted to cancel because we didn't want to go....but being hit by a truck and not able to walk is ground enough to be a little understanding. I will write a bad review for this hotel on every website I can find. Please be careful when thinking about staying at this hotel. best,

Perfect location - great interior design - all comforts in the room - good breakfast - L'Occitane toilettries - quality bedlinen - excellent service, that does actually give you the impression that it is a hotel for travellers, not just travellers for hotel's profits

This is going to be a very short review:

Pros:
- Nice design
- Very comfortable bed
- Location!
- Room size
- Excellent breakfast

Cons:
- No in-house restaurant (in-mall restaurant*)
- Internet not included
- No bathtub
*The hotel is located with direct access to a upper-class shopping center. Everything feels brand new (and I expect that it is) so everything is trendy without dents but without the charm of older buildings.

Even though this hotels has its negative points Ive decided to rate it at 5/5 (but 4/5 was close).

I have previously stayed at the Hilton in Dresden and this time decided to try the QF. What a good choice. I would rate it as better than the Hilton as regards decor, though it is hard to beat the Hilton breakfast and all-round service.

We stayed over the New Year period and had a great time. The room looked on to the Neumarkt - the room itself was spacious and the bathroom a real treat - especially the rainforest shower, though it took a little bit of working out how to get it going.

There is no real restaurant or bar in the hotel but it's so close to so many that it really isn't an issue. I'm not sure the lift and the large drop beside it wouldn't be a great source of interest to children.

We stumbled on this new boutique hotel right on the center square next to the Frauenkirche by just walking in and asking the reception for the rate, which was 160 Euro per night. I asked to preview the room and we were shown a beautifully decorated extra large room facing the palace.

The main room had a full-size desk, sofa, large flat-screen TV, coffee table, fridge, etc. We couldn't have asked for better. Just down a hall was a very large walk-in closet with a safe. The toilet had a bidet, and in another room, a super large (4-person) whirlpool tub with a huge showerhead above.

We even had fresh flowers in the main room.

I'd rate this room 10/10 for it was well thought out and beautifully maintained.

An all you can eat breakfast buffet was included in the Canadian restaurant in the multi story shopping mall to which the hotel attaches. No worries as no noise, foot traffic, or safety - you needed a key to access the upper floors of the hotel from the mall.

Parking was directly beneath the hotel and was very affordable.

The location of the hotel improved our stay in Dresden immensely. We didn't have to drive anywhere! We walked in perfect safety everywhere at any hour of the day or night. It was wonderful to walk to dinner nearby and not hassle the parking issue. (There are dozens of terrific restaurants within a 15 minute walk.) Also, since you are in the centrum, the tourist sites are 5 minutes walk - or less!

The only glitch during our three night stay was the hot water boiler malfunctioned for a few hours one morning. The hotel was so nice about it, we really didn't mind...I think they gave everyone free breakfast, but ours was already included. The gracious thought was much appreciated anyway.

I travel a lot for business and pleasure and I have to say this is one of my Top 5 hotels of all time.
