We stayed a whole week in this hotel and found it was very well located to do all the major sightseeings on foot. The building is nice, rooms are very clean but sort of small but the bathroom is very big and has got a nice whirlpool.
Don't have breakfast there (too expensive), there are lots of cafes nearby.
The indoor swimming pool is also quite small so I wouldn't bother to go.
We had a lot of questions and were helped always very promptly by the reception staff. They were really professionals.

I rarely review the major hotel chains as any criticisms are generally minor and can be rectified quickly.

However, I feel mention should be made regarding the rather expensive breakfast pricing. The breakfast is served buffet style, the choice and quality being adequate but not outstanding. For this, the guest is charged 24 euros. For a couple staying several nights, this is an outrageous additional expense.

After the first morning, my partner and I checked out some of the surrounding cafes and restaurants, of which there are many. The second morning we visited Rauschenbach Deli, in Weisse Gasse, which is literally a couple of minutes walk away. The buffet was far superior in quality and choice. The cost was 12.50 euros per head, coffee extra.

I stayed here with my wife for one night when we took a side-trip to Dresden during a vacation to Prague. We loved this hotel. It was very clean, centrally located, very nice and the staff was terrific. The only semi-negative comment that I have is that the breakfast was quite expensive. It was good, don't get me wrong, just pricey.

The guy who checked us in was very pleasant and did not mind one bit dealing with my limited knowledge of German. He was quite happy speaking to us in English. He gave us great recommendations for restaurants too.

The room was very nice and had a jacuzzi-tub. The bed was very comfortable.

I had mentioned to the front desk that it was my birthday when I was seeking restaurant recommendations, and when we returned from dinner and drinks, there was a box of chocolates and a nice note wishing me a happy birthday. That was a nice touch that I didn't expect.

I was certainly stay at this hotel again.

I stayed at the Radisson for one night in September, and was very pleased with the stay. The business class room was very large and comfortable. The mattress was a bit on the hard side, and the bedding not as luxurious as the German Marriott or Hilton counterparts, but the marble bathroom with the extra-large whirlpool tub more than made up for it.

The location near the Rathaus was very convenient, and all of the Altstadt attractions were a short walk away. The hotel is situated near a large variety of restaurants, cafes, and bars, and is also a short walk from shopping in the altmarkt. The straßenbahn stations at Pirnauplatz and Postplatz are both also within walking distance. If you are looking to stay in the Dresden altstadt, the Radisson is definitely a safe bet.
