“Beware of extras”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2014

It's a bit grim-looking from the outside, but the rooms inside are comfortable and not very expensive - a reflection, I imagine, of the difficulty of filling such a big building up. Be careful of extras though - laundry, drinks, wifi in your room if it isn't included, etc - which can be very expensive. Breakfast's the usual sort of affair, with businessmen shuffling round a central table looking for the butter, the ham, the apple juice, the pre-sliced cheese, etc, and a girl on the door taking your room number to check you're entitled to it. Position OK for the Hauptbahnhof, but it's a short taxi-ride away from the old city centre and the museums.

We stayed here as a family of two adults and two children (ages 12 and 8) on our recent trip to Dresden for 3 nights. Didn't spend much time in the hotel as too much to see but it is fairly central (being a 5-minute walk to the train station and around a 15-minute walk to the old part of the town). Lots of bars, restaurants and shops outside the hotel in what I would describe as a pedestrian precinct type of place. Did not have WIFI though - scandalous to charge 12 euro per device in this day and age! But for the price was paid the room (connecting two rooms) was a good size and clean and modern. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again in Dresden. There was an offer on for "3 nights for the price of 2" so you may wish to check that with the hotel before you book. There is also a fab Turkish café a couple of doors along from the hotel, turning right as you come out. Very cheap, great food and cheap alcohol!

Have spent two nights in this typical three star hotel. Accommodation just what I needed. Clean and tidy room, nice bathroom, good breakfast. Perfect location. Professional English speaking staff. Car parking possibilities.

Being centrally located in Dresden was important to us since we needed a hotel only for a night. Close to the most important sights, near Prager Strasse shopping area and a quarter mile to Dresden Hbf. I love taking the train when traveling around Europe!

The rooms are very basic, but clean. Shower was a tight squeeze but the towels were white and new. Bring your own shampoo/toiletries since you only get a small bar of soap in the bathroom.

The concierge was very helpful and if you are thirsty and don't want to leave the hotel, there's an overpriced vending machine in the lobby.

Personnel is smiling and friendly
But ask 12€ for wifi is a shame for a 3 stars. An abonnement is not much than 50€/month.
Be honnest and ask a max of 3€ !!!!!!!!!!!! Food is just normal, situation is alright

Great location. All the city's sights are close by foot. Very close to the train station. If you only have a small amount of time to spend in Dresden, buy one of the several available walking guides at the bookstore in the train station. No need to take one of the bus tours. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Wi-fi available, but for a price.
