“Day out in Saarbrücken :-)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

This hotel (no idea, why they're calling it a motel... :-) ) is brand new, offers great design, very interesting prices, night reception, and so on. Very well situated in the heart of Saarbrücken (old part of the city), you can enjoy a great time along the river Saar.

Motel One is my favourite hotel in Saarbrücken. I've been here three times, and each time I like it. It is one of the quitest hotels I've ever been in, with nice rooms, a good breakfast, and efficient service. I wish all hotels were like this...

it's already said on my comment for the same group in Berlin... you won't find a better quality-price relation, particularly in Saarbrücken where the hotel is situated on one side in a very nice little street just beneath the pedestrian old city streets (main entrance) and on the other just opposite to the opera.... nice green area to have breakfast or a rest...
choose the rooms on the main street side... they are bigger and you won't hear any noise by closing the windows.... air condition works at its best.... and staff is simply gorgeous and helpful. I'd go back in any case and forget about my former 4 star place....

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2012 via mobile

I arrived with another female colleague and we both received rooms on the ground floor. We both expressed safety concerns, but these were not acknowledged. On top of that, the rooms cannot be locked from the inside! The second lock is on the door, but, "that service is not activated". Needless to say, we did not feel very safe.
The rooms are small, but clean and very modern. The bathrooms as well. There is no phone, hence no wake-up call. Also, I found it impossible to get the Wifi to work with my iPhone. A problem they seem to be aware of. Also, there were rips along the walls (see photos). That did not help one to feel safe either!
The lobby was the best part. Modern and welcoming. The service from the staff was also good. The breakfast was ok.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2011

stayed at the Motel One for business trip last week - the place is new and nicely designed,
location is great as the pedestrian area of city center including shopping & restaurants area
is right out of the back side exit door which makes it very easy for short relaxing stop over
and evening meals, rooms are nice, clean with all needed facilities, flat screen etc,
breakfast is quite basic but OK, one funny issue is there were no room phones so in case of any need from the reception you should simply go down and ask for it.... however that is not really an issue....
