“Good location, helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

We stayed 2 nights here in September and enjoyed our stay. Good location - easy walk from both the train station and old town. Rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good. Several places to eat nearby. This hotel is a great value.

Friendly place where it appears one hotel has been carved out of several historic buildings. Huge rooms, very comfortably appointed; modern baths, big windows. No A/C, but windows opened wide for fresh, cool air overnight. Wonderful customer service and great breakfast. Convenient to walk to tourist areas.

Room Tip: Ask for one where the windows open on the garden area

Slightly outside the main drag but very handy for the train station. Very clean and spacious rooms. Helpful staff and decent breakfast. A lot of tour companies and cruises seem to choose this hotel which is a good sign. Not a bad city either with nice atmosphere.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

We stayed two nights in this hotel and enjoyed our stay. However our room faced the street and the first night one of our windows was not properly closed and it was very noisy for the whole night. The next night we secured all of the windows and it was fine, It is just a little stuffy with the windows shut and I think a fan would have been good. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The breakfast was superb served in two lovely dining rooms overlooking the garden. We did enjoy our stay - just wished we had got more sleep on the first night.. Would stay here again but would ask for a room overlooking the garden.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the garden.

This hotel is very close to the Rheine so you can walk to the riverside for evening meals/drinks within a few minutes. Rooms are adequate in size but the white furniture/chandeliers etc gave the room a rather 'of the past' feel. Our room faced the road and it was very noisy, even with the window closed. Wifi available at a very reasonable 1 euro for 8 hours. Breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful.

Enjoyed it for a night. My room faced the street but still had a very quite night with window open. The room is decorated as in the fifties. The hallway had a small library, nice touch, and the wireless connection was a lot faster as usual in hotel. A good breakfast (European style) and personal attention of the owner. All with all I liked it better as the chains like IBIS and what have you.

Lovely small hotel in excellent location, with the personal touch from Michaela Dietz, Manager and all her staff.
Good breakfast in spacious dining room. Can't wait to return!
