“Contemporary and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

After reading some unfavourable reviews on TA we were a little apprehensive about staying at this hotel, however, we were really pleased that we did. The rooms were spacious and well designed, the staff were extremely pleasant and the F & B very good.

The hotel suited us as we were driving through Germany and were pleased to stay on the outskirts of town. After driving into the town centre of Muenster we were sorry that we didn't stay longer as it looked really charming.

The hotel room rate was EUR 159 for a suite with breakfast included - an absolute bargain. The suite consisted of two rooms - bed/bath in one and lounge/desk area in the other. Both rooms had balconies overlooking a courtyard - which were great for fresh air during the night. We had free DSL in the room and I connected my Apple Airport Express for wifi. I noted that DSL is often the only internet available in rooms in many Germany hotels - so I took the Airport Express with me on the trip. The interiors of the hotel are beautifully designed with quality furnishings and fittings. As architects we appreciated the minimalist approach to the design.

Polyester pillows and duvet unfortunately and no feather/down available even on request.

We had dinner at the Tapas restaurant which was very reasonable and of good quality. Very pleasant service too.

The small shopping area adjacent to the hotel was convenient and situated around a nice green courtyard.

The only downside to our stay as having to listen to a drunk guest in the early hours of the morning screaming his head off in the courtyard. But that wasn't the fault of the hotel.

The drinks are not only great value but the atmosphere is always lively at the factory hotel. They bring yummy nuts and snacks along with your drinks too! On the whole, Germania Campus is a great place to stay...CurryCult on the opposite side has the besy CurryWurst and there is a bus stop right outside which will take you into the city. Its even better in the Summer when you can sit outside and watch kids play in the sand or water.

Hotel is a bit different, which is a great thing in Germany!

It's not that easy to find, and the parking is a bit complex, as it finding the room.

The room is a bit basic, but I guess that's the appeal. It was fairly cold, and no WiFi. Bed was comfy and bathroom was a good size.

Unless you're visiting the area the hotel is in, it's not that good a location. Especially quiet on a Sunday. There's some restaurants and a supermarket here.

Muenster isn't the easiest cities to drive round, so if you want to visit the centre I'd recommend staying in the centre.

Dear guest,

Thank you for your comments. We appreciate your feedback.

Due to the thick concrete walls we cannot offer WiFi on our guest rooms at the moment. WiFi is available in our pubilc areas. Münster is well connected in public transportation. A bus stop is right next to our hotel, the bus reaches the city centre in a couple of minutes. We would be pleased to assist you on your next stay.

It was a pleasure for us to have you as guest. We look forward to welcoming you again!

My wife and I stayed 3 nights in the Factory Hotel before leaving for Heidelberg for 4 nights and then returning for a further 3 nights. Our first stay was in a standard double room which was very comfortable although there were no tea making facilities. I have since found that this is common in Germany. There is no wi-fi in these rooms but seeing the construction of the building, which is an old converted brewery, I was not surprised but there is wired internet in the rooms if you have your laptop and wi-fi in the lobby.

On our return we upgraded to a suite as it was our 40th wedding anniversary and were very pleased with the room. The lack of any guest information meant we had no information regarding breakfast times, restaurant menus or local information. Also surprised there was no fridge/mini bar as were in a suite and again no tea facilities. We managed to keep our water and wine chilled on the balcony.

There is mention in a previous review of the cost of breakfast. We didn't have breakfast on our first 3 nights but did decide to take advantage of the facility on our return and found it to be excellent value and quality well worth the 17 euros per head.

Munster city centre is a little further than I had anticipated but the bus service was excellent.

We would definitely stay at the Factory hotel if we return to Munster and really loved the quirkiness of the unfinished brickwork and concrete.

The hotel is neat and tidy, very modern and rooms are really clean. But there are several things missing for four star hotel. The rooms are modern looking and minimalistic bit tue AC could use a display to look better. There's no wifi throughout the whole house, no minibar and no roomservice.
All in all a nice place to stay, but no real four star establishment.

Booked in for a two night stay at this hotel and I have to say it is one of the strangest hotels that I have ever stayed in. Little direction to facilities in the hotel either from signage or hotel staff. Breakfast is an additional 17 Euros on top of the price of the room!!!!!!!! Way too expensive for a breakfast charge! No tea or coffee in the rooms either and to find out that there is no Wi Fi in the rooms is unbelievable for a hotel in this day and age most disappointing especially when travelling I need Wi Fi access. A negative experience all round.

My stay in factory hotel for three night was really pleasant, apart from the heating system which hasn't worked properly for the whole stayimg, because the first night it was broken and i was provided with a small electric heater. Other night it worked without any interruption, being a bit too hot. Apart from this trouble the hotel is absolutrly amazing. It is the reconversion of a group of buildings into hotel, bars, disco and some restaurant. Thr whole thing is really amazing. The locarion is in Munster outskirts, but it is within 20 minutes walk from city center. Walking around is perfectly safe, but there are so much things to near the hotel that it is fully satisfactory. Rooms are great. Mine was spacious, well furnished with free cabled internet access and all the amenities you would expect in a four star hotel.
Breakfast is gorgeous. The breakfast room is an high ceiling room with lots and lots food for having any kind of breakfast you like, from classical english with bacon and egg to healthy juices and youghurts.
Recommended, apart from what said above
