“Visiting a village beer festival”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

What a great find! This hotel has very recently had a change of owners. The new guys are making renovations to the building/fixtures/fittings which if they match to their excellent service, will be the top place to stay in Monchengladbach.
The service here cannot be faulted, from the warm welcome (in English, on account of our poor/lazy language skills), the arranging of taxis (for our trip to the local village festival in Dulken) to the heartfelt thanks and good wishes at our departure.....and everything in-between.
Whilst the rooms were in need of an update/refresh, the beds were comfortable and spotlessly clean. In a quiet area of the town but just a 5 minute walk to the bus & train station.
I wish these guys the very best with this new venture. They certainly have the hosting skills required.

For the price of the rooms it was no surprise that they were a bit dated, however they were very clean and the price of the mini bar was very reasonable, also has free Wifi. The breakfast was very nice, lots of choice.

As we were arriving after 6pm we had to call for a code to allow us into the hotel as no staff would be there!. This was a bit strange for the size of the hotel and although there was a tel number to call in emergencies, if you needed help with something non urgent, such as an extra pillow, what would you do?

We did not know about the underground car park and only stumbled across it on our way back from our meal, which was a McDonalds as the choice of restaurants was very limited.

The area in which the hotel is located is not very good and a few drunks in the park close by
were a bit un nerving.

In smmary we would not stay at the hotel again due to the location, however it is ony this that would stop us as all other aspects of the stay was very good.

Not easy to find using Sat Nav, but free parking under cover, free wi-fi and simple, adequate breakfast. I would definitely stay again on business. Warm comfortable room, with very reasonable prices for mini-bar use. Only downside was that restaurant was closed, but there are places to eat nearby.

last minute change of plan was happily accommodated.
