“Very good value for the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012

I stayed at Hotel Berial for one night, as I was attending a concert at Tonhalle Düsseldorf. The hotel is conveniently located a walking distance (roughly 1 km) from the concert hall and the Old Town, where there are lots of restaurants and pubs. Furthermore, the price was very affordable.

My single room was a bit small, but it was very clean and rather nicely furnished. The breakfast buffet was included in the room rate, and it offered a large selection of hot and cold dishes. The food was very good.

Parking is possible on nearby streets, and it seemed to be free of charge for the night and also all day on Sundays. I parked my motorcycle just a few steps from the entrance, but finding a spot for a car may be more difficult.

This hotel was a very good choice for me, and I would stay here if I visited Düsseldorf again.

Had a weekend stay at the Hotel Berial, located about a 10 minute walk from the Alstadt/Old Town sector of Dusseldorf. It's in a largely residential area, which means it is nice and quiet during the evening. This does mean you have to walk a few blocks to get groceries, but there is a late-night store (Rewe) located about 10 minutes to the northeast of the hotel which offers a wide range of staples -- including wine, beer, baguettes, cheeses, snacks, fresh fruit and veggies, ice cream, etc.

This is an independently-run hotel, so don't expect cookie-cutter halls and rooms. Each room seems to be unique, but recently upgraded with nice modern fixtures in the bathrooms and comfortable beds. All seems very clean. Breakfast room and lounge are modern, clean, and with a postmodern-Asian flavour (if you're looking for gingham table cloths and porcelain poodles, you -- thankfully -- won't find them here!). Breakfast fare is good, with boiled and scrambled eggs, an assortment of artisan breads, meats, and cheeses. Range of fruit juices and a great coffee bar where you can have your latte, cappucino, espresso, etc. made-to-order.

Staff are very friendly; and the majority speak effortless English. Very helpful in providing advice on local events, and directions.

There's a brand new lift/elevator that serves all floors except the fifth, but if you're up there it only means one staircase to negotiate. Parking on the street is free overnight between 1800 and 1100 most days, but it does fill up quickly. During the day, parking can be purchased from automated kiosks located at regular intervals. There's also apparently a parking garage located a few blocks away.

Rates are extremely competitive, offering a great value for this clean, quiet, welcoming hotel. It's located just on the doorstep of the Hofgarten, a beautiful garden in the city that offers tranquil benches and interesting statues and water features throughout. A great place for morning exercise, too. It is a bit of a walk to the downtown shopping districts and galleries/museums, but for those who enjoy a bit of separation from the madding crowds, this is an ideal spot.

Amenities: Free WiFi (ask for login/password at front desk). North Americans might miss the lack of in-room coffee service, iron, and -- curiously -- facecloths.

I'd definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Seems to be quite a variance in the size of rooms; there's at least one on the top floor (5th) t...

I stay at this hotel every two years and have just recently enjoyed a week at Hotel Berial. The Hotel is conveniently located to the Old Town, transport and great restaurants. Rooms are comfortable but small and always clean. The breakfasts are the highlite of the stay with a range of fresh fruits, meets and decent coffee!
It is always a pleasure retuning to this hotel and nothing is a problem for their helpful day and night staff.
Highly recomended!

Room Tip: Always have breakfast!

A greay find, middle in the city, walking distance from opera, shops, museums. Good for business and tourist. But.. Be sure you ask for a bigger room. Rooms uneven. Best is 548 on 5 th floor.

Room Tip: There is noo spa!
