We stayed at this hotel for the duration of an expo (10 days). Usually we get some shabby 2-3 star "boutiques" booked from our employer, so of course I was very excited about staying in a place that deserves the title Hotel.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. And I mean sincere friendly. Besides the usual things, on several occasions I needed help printing out some marketing materials and I got good assistance from the people at the reception.
The room was big and spacious, TV seemed even a bit too small for a room of that size. I really enjoyed the bathroom - big shower area, heated floors and the glass wall connecting the bathroom to the sleeping area, made it seem even bigger.
Bed was comfortable and the pillows also.
But about some of the negative stuff I experienced:
Parking - a nightmare. We did have some evenings where we had to circle the block for 2-3 times to find a spot. Of course there is the underground parking lot of the hotel, but that cost a whopping €22.- per night whereas on the street you didn't have to pay anything.
Location - in a way this hotel is quite conveniently located. If you travel by car, you can get quick access to the expo center or the highways leading out of town. As some previous reviewers mentioned, there aren't too many restaurants around the hotel. The...We stayed at this hotel for the duration of an expo (10 days). As some previous reviewers mentioned, there aren't too many restaurants around the hotel. The ones that are, were full even on Monday evenings. But this is something the hotel can't do anything about.
The air in the room seemed to be really dry - I usually don't wake up in the middle of the night with a dry throat but at this hotel it happened almost every night. There is a complimentary water bottle that helps but still the dry air influenced the quality of sleep quite a bit. Maybe my dry throat was due to the exhausting expo, but then again, not my first and by far not the hardest expo to go through.
I tried to sleep with an open window and it did help a bit, but at 6AM you have the garbage guys outside making a lot of noise. Had some pretty scary dreams because of the incoming soundtrack :)
But overall, with my hotel track record, I would rate this place above average. You just have to be ready to make some lemonade once in a while.More
