“Your place to stay in Düsseldorf”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2011

It took me a while to find it because it's on a small side road (and because I forgot to write down the address) - which is nice because it's quiet at night. The rooms are spacious and there are big lockers provided. The bathrooms are practical: generous shower stalls and additional two sinks, the toilett is separate. There is a TV lounge and two free guest computers. For guests with their own laptops there is free WiFi throughout the house. The guest kitchen is rather small but the dining area is huge, so I guess if you don't have to cook at a certain time you just wait until there is space in the kitchen. They also provide free breakfast with three or four kinds of bread, four(?) kinds of jam, honey, sausages,.....yummie :-) The staff is fantastic and I was even able to borrow a hairdryer from the reception. Thanks, Anna :-)
If you go out at night (because Dusseldorf is a great place to party) you easily get back in with the doorcode at the front door and there is another code for the dorms. So I would recommend to write down the codes for yourself - just in case ;-)
The only little thing I didn't like was that the toilets upstairs next to the TV lounge were rather dirty in the morning....but that was probably before cleaning took place.

This is exactly what you want from a good hostel - simple but comfortable rooms for a great price, with loads of character and a great vibe. We stayed here for two nights and made a countless number of new friends, felt completely safe and at home the entire time, and were made to feel very welcome by the wonderful staff. The location is about a 15 min walk from the Aldstadt, which was very convenient, and it was very easy to get around the town. Would definitely recommend!!

It was really wonderful trip to Germany with our group from university and I think the stuff of the hostel will remember us long time))
The hostel is rather clean and it is cleaned up every day, that I liked very much. The shower on the 1st floor is big and clean too.
Breakfast is the same everyday, but I liked it, esp coffee!
The location of this hostel is good too, it takes only 15 minutes by foot to get to Altstadt and to the bank of Rein. And there are a lot of markets and bakeries near the hostel.

Room Tip: room 4!!

Stayed here for a few nights on a visit to Düsseldorf. I just wanted somewhere cheap to sleep. It is not the easiest to find but if you use the map on the website you will find it. Though most people know were it is if you ask. Check in was easy.

I was in a dorm of 6. The dorm was basic but it looks as if they are doing them out as the ones downstairs are a lot newer. It was still clean and warm. There are loads of places to hang out and a large kitchen/dining area too. There is free wi-fi and 2 computers.

Everyone is nice and met some really cool people! Would recommend especially as a single traveller!

This hostel was not the best I've stayed in, but it was a good place to stay nonetheless. The facilities were clean and the staff was very friendly. The dorms are mostly all big ones though so if you are looking for somewhere private look elsewhere. I believe this is the cheapest hostel in Dusseldorf, and it's worth its price, especially since it comes with breakfast. Breakfast was only white and wheat bread with a toaster, coffee, jam/ nutella/ butter, tea, and sausages, but was nice to have for free. The location is good if you don't mind a short walk into town or a cheap taxi ride. It was quiet at night so sleep was good and the walk to the old town was very easy and only took about 20 minutes. I don't have much to say about the hostel, because nothing about it made me upset and nothing about it made me love it. Just a decent place to stay.

Me and my friend had a 16 hour stop over in Dusseldorf and did not want to book anything to pricey for our night there, so went for a bed in the 10 bed dorm!

First impressions are that its not the greatest hostel (its down a back-street from the main road), but I have been in worse I suppose and for 17 Euros I was not over fussy!

You enter the hostel through the kitchean area and the reception is pretty easy to miss but once you find it you will probably have to wait another 5 or 6 minutes as the staff will probably out the front smoking a cigarette (when I went to find him I got the impression that he was not prepaired to move until he had taken his last draw of his fag!).

Beds are what you expect! You get a cover for your pillow and bedsheets!

Hostel has usual facilities - bathroom and toilets, tv lounge, free internet etc....

In terms of location, though Dusseldorf is not the biggest city, it is not the greatest! Its about 5 minutes by taxi (6 euros for the journey) and you are about a 15-20 minute walk to the Altstadt (old town!).

We had to check out at 6am before any of the staff had got up, so never tried the breakfast, so can not say what it was like!

All in all, I think my stop off in Dusseldorf was a one off, but in future I would probably do a little more research and book something more central.

I stayed here for 2 nights and thought it was ok. I was on room 4 I think. I had wifi in the room and didn't have any problems with this. Bathrooms smelled a bit but were decent. I didn't like the showers because there were 2 that were connected and only a shower curtain covering a certain portion of one section so you could see the other guy in the one beside. Breakfast was bread and spreads and cereal too I think. Reception was really friendly both times. I was leaving early in the morning so it was fine that I just leave my sheets on the bed. I had no problems with the bed. Be aware though that none of the rooms have locks on them. This was not an issue for me because each room had security lockers and the clientele seemed really chill so I don't think this is something to worry about. There was a quiet courtyard to talk or play ping pong. They also had a living room like area with a tv. Location was a bit of a walk from the train station but manageable. I think it was an ok location to get to everything in the city. Ktichen also included.
