A Friday evening in September, the restaurant is as you can imagine fully packed.
Unfortunately the tables are too small: hardly possible to place the welcome "snack" in the middle of the table. This leads to pretty bad service phases, some platters being placed in front of one of the guest instead of in the middle. Hard as well to place simply 2 plates on these small tables.
You have really the impression of being a bit packed in the restaurant, at least for the standard of the place, and it becomes quickly very loud when the room is full. (and it was...). To close the critics, plants used to separate the tables are in plastic...
Let's start with the good aspects of the place, naming the food.
It started with a few snacks, some a bit original, and well presented, and tasty: crispy cone with salmon tartar, nordsea shrimps on a bed of beetroot, and a coco, pumpkin and curry soup.
We chose a menu with the wine selection to accompany the food.
The starter was "Tuna, tatar & tataki, kimchi, beetroot, soya sauce, goat cheese". It was fine, the kimchi being well balanced.
The service quite attentive, but sometimes serving while people are not seated at the table.
As second course, we got "Langostino, avocado, mango, butternut, coriander", very nice mix of taste.
And the main course was a "US beef bavette, potato (mashed & smoked), corn (young & grilled)", it could sound rather simple dish, but it's simply amazing how original and nicely designed it came on the table.And the taste was very nice.
To close we had "Dark chokolat, green apple (sorbet and "compote"), canelloni with yogourt, hazelnut", a very interesting mix and overall excellent way to close this nice dinner.
In general, wines were nice, well matching the dishes, and for the dessert it was probably a good match to the apple, but not so great with the chocolate.
The food is excellent, the service quite good, just a pity that they do lack some space and that you feel packed in a place of this quality.
