“Cheap but good quality hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2013

Stayed here on a Friday night as it was very close to the train station. Wasn't expecting a lot for the price but was surprised by how decent it was. Check in was painless and friendly, hotel was pretty clean. Single room was small but had everything you need. Free internet was a bonus too. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Try and get a room away from the lift/corridor as early risers will wake you up.

Stayed for a short break with friends. The hotel is very close to the railway station and for the price it was good. Room was facing the front which was a bit noisy - but staying in the centre i would expect it. The rooms were small, but warm and clean, the room made up every day. Breakfast was as expected - eggs were either scrambled or boiled - the rest was cold meats, cheese, cereal breads. Free wi-fi which is great.

Room Tip: ask for rooms not street facing if you are a light sleeper

The hotel is centrally located and close to the Dusseldorf Hauptbanhof but that is about the only redeeming feature of this hotel. Yes the room was clean but very small and faced the main street so it got really really noisy at night whether it was the noise from speeding cars, passer bys, who some of them are drunk and loud after a night out and too much drinking! Found it difficult to have a relaxing night after a long day.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms NOT facing the main street

One of the best features of this hotel - which is nice and clean with a decent breakfast - is the multistorey parking just round the corner where you can leave your car for a mere 6 Euros for 24 hours! And the hotel is only a couple of hundred metres away from Düsseldorf's "Kö", one of the poshest shopping streets in Germany.

If you are looking for a hotel in this price range then this is a good option. It is centrally located between the Hauptbahnhof and the Altstadt (Old City). So it has a good location and friendly and knowledgeable staff.

The room is small but if you are out most of the time then this should not be a problem. It is clean and functional and was fine for what I required namely a bed to crash after a day exploring.

The breakfast was good although not great but again, in this price class this is the breakfast you expect. The breakfast is totally sufficient to get a good start to the day. If you want a fancy breakfast, change hotel price bracket.

For a solo traveler like me this was completely acceptable. If you spend more time in your room then consider upgrading - but then why visit a city if you are not exploring it?

Room Tip: Ask for the biggest room in price class.

We checked in on a Saturday evening and it was an okay check in. The front desk agent was nice and gave a city map and explained when breakfast was.

But I had four people stay in one room because the parents had a fifteen hour layover. Not thinking that this would be a problem, and no one said anything at the front desk concerning four people going to the room.

Then in the morning we went down to the "free" breakfast which was bare and did not even have any eggs even it was labeled to have it. The coffee tasted like folgers and the bread was stale.

In the middle of our meal we begin to be yelled at that we "must" pay more for the four people. The woman in the morning was extremely rude and made us feel embarrassed. I have never had such terrible service but Frau Saghin made sure I experienced this.

The rooms are adequate, but the location is terrible. The hotel staff is rude and the free breakfast is not worth your time. Avoid this hotel and this city unless you like filthy streets with marauding drunks noisy rooms and rude hotel staff. If that IS what you like....Then this hotel is for you!

Room Tip: Go to Koln
