“Rude Waiters and Average Food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2014

Nothing special here - despite the winning location in Düsseldorf's Altstadt. The food is average and the staff unfriendly. The bill arrives with large print announcing that "tip is NOT included." It is not expensive (10-12 euro per plate) which was the only real positive. In short, you will receive a forgettable meal delivered by snippy waiters. We won't be back.

“Unfriendly service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2014

The resraurant provides normal quality food for very good price. Pork and turkey stakes, schnitzels, german wurst, fries are the on the menu.

We were dissapointed that we could not seat at the nice big table in half-empty restaurant because more people could potentially arrive. There was plenty of room, but the waiter kicked us out to a smaller table. When we were leaving 1 hour later all nice tables were still empty...

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

I have passed this restaurant on numerous occasions and had always wanted to try it. So during a city stay with my wife (who is a Schnitzel fan) we decided to eat there. We sat at a window table which was open so we had a great view of this busy Altstadt street. We got served straight away and had drinks on our table within a few minutes. It took a while to chose our meals and the wait for them was reasonable. I ordered the Schweinske Platte from the card on the table and my wife ordered a Paprika Schnitzel from the menu. My wife originally wanted something different but with the speck (bacon) removed, but the waiter said this was not possible as the sauces was already made.My meal was described 4 different steaks Hacksteak, Turkey, Pork and another which Our cannot remember. this also included fried potatoes, green beans and salad. 1 all the steaks was small and thin (some just bitesize) 2 way too much green beans which were drenched in a sticky bechamel sauce. 3 the salad was just a few pieces thrown on top and within 4 the fried potatoes was ok. this nearly 11 euros. My wifes Schnitzel was thin and dry. While we waited we received 2 big hunks of bread (no spreads) but we ate this after our meal, tasted good. Reasonable drink prices with good selection. I think we will not visit again, instead going to our favourite Louisianas 50 metres away on the same street

“Very nice food at a low price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

My wife and i had a dinner here Saturday December 8th, 2012.
We made the mistake of going at 18.30, on a Saturday... so it was hellish busy.
Surprise, surprise, we were seated within 5 minutes. The restaurant was full, but we were given menus right away, got a drink in front of us within 10 minutes.
We ordered, i took the Fritz-Schwein XXL, which is a huge(!!) schnitzel, with fries and salad.
My wife took the Schweinesteak "Tessin" which was a pork steak served in a pan with spinach, mushrooms, tomato and rosti potato rounds, in a delicious cream sauce.
Both were delicious, and i was very happy that neither of us had taken a starter as it would have been impossible to finish if we would have done so.
I highly recommend this restaurant. The two main courses as well as three drinks cost us less then 30 euro.
