“A great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

A really nice more traditional hotel, definitely better than some of the chains. I was met by the most friendly man on reception who made me feel very welcome. My room was on the first floor and even though it overlooked the street it proved to be nice and quiet. It seemed like the room had been recently refurbished and everywhere was clean especially the shower room.
The hotel is only 15 mins slow walk from the station and not so far to all the attractions.
It was all finished of with a more than adequate breakfast. Well Done

My husband and I recently stayed here while on holiday. Our room included our own shower, WC, and heated towel rack to quickly dry laundry. A nice German continental breakfast was also included and the hotel offered discounts on public transportation. It was all lovely!!

The premises are fine, the room we had was adequate, the ensuite shower room excellent. The bar area was comfortable and the breakfast adequate. As my wife suffers from arthritis, we had wanted an hotel close to the Christmas Markets. The owner assured me they were just across the road (actually 1.3 kilometres). I booked a garage space on the phone and was assured one would be available. It wasn't and I was advised on arrival that they are issued on a 1st come 1st served basis. This meant we had to park in the side of the road and take all our luggage up the stairs as we had bought a lot of 'goodies' on Cologne. No offer of assistance was made with this task. There was considerable confusion at the time of booking, which I did through Expedia. The owner then contacted me to say I should cancel the Expedia booking and do it privately, which I did. Alas, he expected me to send ALL my credit card details via insecure email, which I would no do. He would not take details over the phone. I re-booked via Expedia, during which time (abou 5 hours) the price had increased by about 30%. The owner could be described as not foreigner centric (trying to be polite). I would add that I speak good German, having qualified as an Interpreter when in the Army.

Have just returned home yesterday after spending the weekend in Dusseldorf. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel , the first with my family including children and this time with my wife and friends. This is a nice traditional friendly hotel with pleasant helpful staff, the rooms are clean with TV & WIFI access. The breakfast was good with plenty of fresh crusty rolls , and always the offer of a top up jug of fresh coffee. The location is only a 5/10 minutes walk to the Konigsallee shopping centre and then onwards to the Altstadt, Would stay here again next time

Room Tip: There are a larger rooms in the garden area if you have family etc.

Very nice hotel with recently furbished rooms and traditional lobby. Great location and private parking. Walking distance from the Rhein, the tower and Altstadt but in a quiet area. Would stay again..

We stayed 2 weeks in Duesseldorf at this hotel in July 2014. We had 2 rooms at the back of the garden. Garden area was nice addition. Rooms were clean and had plenty of space for 5 people. Location of the hotel was excellent. Breakfast had all that we needed. Hotel staff was very friendly. Both rooms had also free WIFI access. For sure would be back again in this hotel.

Room Tip: Hotel Travel Pass was excellent for us. We saved plenty of money using these tickets.

The hotel is located not so far from Königsallee, Shadowstrasse and so on, so wonderful position. The rooms are clean but, if you're not so lucky, you can get a 3x3 meters room with no space even for a big luggage, and your friend with an apartment, sofa, etc. is paying the same price !
The breakfast is absolutely under the level of a decent breakfast, coffe, tea, some cheese & ham from packages, so are the jam.
The hote is safe, clean and people there very nice, the WIFI access works just on the first floor.

Room Tip: Please ask for the rooms that are on the depandance, just behind the garden.
