My wife and I stayed at this hotel for three nights just before Christmas. Our main reason for the visit to Düsseldorf was to see the Christmas markets and soak up the culture of Düsseldorf. We were not disappointed with the Hotel Villa Archenbach. The hotel is situated in the inner suburbs a bout 4 stops on the tram to the city centre and another two stops to the old town. The area is primarily a quiet residential area that feels very safe. The hotel is an old family (obviously very rich) home built in about 1903 that has been converted into a lovely hotel.
The décor was very warm and contributed to the Christmas feeling. The staff were excellent and could not do enough for us. The breakfast was varied and fresh. We had the superior room on the top floor with a balcony. The size of the room was very large with an excellent bathroom with shower. The bed was very comfortable.
The only negative was the noise from the room above (foot noises across the floor) and an annoying 'click' sound outside our room coming from some digital device. However, the stay was fantastic and would consider staying again.More
