Nice hotel - rooms are a bit small but the beds are most comfortable. Location is great at walking distance from both central station but also from the Königsallee / Altstadt. Staff is friendly, breakfast plentiful and quality!!

The Mercure is ideal as a base to explore Dusseldorf, especially if you come by train. It is only a couple of hundred metres from the busy Hauptbahnhof station yet the hotel and the immediate area is remarkably quiet.
The hotel has nice rooms, truly outstanding breakfast and friendly, helpful staff.
The hotel is a 5min walk from Konigsalle and just a little further to the Rhine or the Old Town.
We stayed on a weekend deal where the double room and breakfast for 2 was Euro95, at this price it is good value but we noticed exorbitant rack rates and other meals in the hotel were quite pricey. However we didn't eat in the hotel in the evening and there is lots of choice close by and in the Old Town
We flew in to Dusseldorf and stayed ther for convenience though Cologne was the main destination, however there is a lot more to Dusseldorf than we thought and we stayed there on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Rhineside area is particularly nice

We stayed in this hotel in June 2008. We arrived on an early morning flight and were delighted to find that both rooms were ready.

The rooms were quite spacious, the single room was in fact a double room for single use. It had a large bathroom with a window which is very unusual for a hotel bathroom. The bedroom also had a small balcony off it.

The staff at reception were extremely friendly and helpful as were the staff in the hotel bar.
The hotel bar is lovely and unusually enough it is open to the public with on an on street entrance and during warmer weather outside seating.
There is a very good bar menu and the food is of a good quality.

I can’t comment on the breakfast as this was not included in our room price and I think it was fairly expensively priced.

There is a free internet point in reception.

The hotel is located near the train station and within easy walking distance to the KO and the Alt Stadt. There is a small shop next door to the hotel where you can buy water etc…

There is a very good Thai restaurant about 5 minutes up the street called Sila Thai and a brewery around the corner which serves good German fare.

I tried a different hotel around the corner for my second visit to Dusseldorf but was very disappointed so when I return to Dusseldorf I will stay in the Mercure. You can’t beat service with a smile.

Dusseldorf was a stop over stay during our holiday. The hotel was as all the Mercure hotels that we stayed in, clean, a great size room and friendly staff. The staff were very helpful to make the most of our stay in Dusseldorf. Close to station and a great location to see the Altstadt. Will recommend it!

Just had one night at the Mercure. It is a standard Mercure, our twin room was fairly small but clean, quite modern, beds were comfortable. Location was excellent. Bathroom clean and quite spacious. Only gripe was the AC - i had the temperature turned down as low as possible but it didnt seem to do anything - so had to open the window to cool down, which then meant we heard every police car/ambulance that went buy during the night. I would definitely stay here again as it is great value at £60 but make sure the room temperature control works first.

For a little over £50 per night for a single room, this hotel is good value though not particularly memorable as such. The £50 gets you a single room with a single bed in a very small room with a modern en-suite facility, though no bath (a bath wont fit in such a small room). The rooms, though pretty non-descript, were comfortable and quiet, though the air-con didnt seem to really do anything but make noise, so I switched it off. The staffare professional and courteus, but that's it really. Not a specialhotel, but comfortable, located in between the Kongisalle and the train station. Good base from which to explore nearby Cologne and Bonn. Breakfast is £12 per day extra, which is ridiculously expensive, considering the restaurant and bar are tiny. As such didnt opt for brekky so cannot vouch for the quality of the food. Note, also there's no room service or much food about the place. In summary, a well located and comfortable, good value but average hotel.

  • Liked — Location and price
  • Disliked — Small boring rooms - also 2.5 Euros for a small bag of crips?!?

Hotel is situated about 300 metres from the Hauptbahnhof and about 10-15 minutes walk from the Koningsalle and Altstadt, altough Dusseldorf in itself is very walkable.

Hotel has been recently modernised and rooms are of an ok sized. Nice bay type window with door that fully opened on to the balcony. Room facilities are good, Satellite TV, Honesty Minibar (can use as a fridge), In room safe (although the previous guest had locked this so this was not working!), Room also has Internet access which is a bit pricey at 15 Eur for 24 hours.

Bathroom was nice size, and warm thanks to the Central Heating radiator in there, power shower and standard Mercure toiletries available.

Beds were extremely comfortable, of the molded matress variety, it may seem a bit soft for some, but had a great nights sleep and as in other German hotels, a double bed means two quilts on the bed.

Ample storage and hanging space in the room and also benefits from a trouser press.

Bar downstairs and room service is available, although not sure I would pay the 200 Euro a night rack rate especially as this city has some great hotels to stay in. If paying around 80-90 Euro a night this would be prefectly acceptable

Hotel seemed very quiet when I stayed, hardly saw many other guests, but all in all a nice stay!
