“Nasty and cheap”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2010

I was shocked at how dingy and poky the room was, how stained the old grey carpet and how musty the shower area. The chipped melamine black ash furniture was the sort of thing you might find in a student dorm in the 1980s. If I'd been nineteen and travelling on small a budget I might have found it OK, but I'm amazed it even has three stars.

Can't comment on the location or breakfast. - and in fact I didn't even stay the night - I got out as fast as I could when I saw the room which had been booked for us.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2007

My partner and I stayed at this hotel in April 2007 for a week. The room was generally okay, although the cleaner kept trying to get into the room at 8am everyday whilst we were still in bed. The Hotel is in an okay area, it is about 15-20 mins from the main town if you walk and there are a couple of restaurants nearby if you don't want to stray too far in the evenings. However, during the day between 11am-3pm or 4pm we were asked not to come back to the hotel, as there would be no one in, this was rather annoying and a bit odd but we didnt think too much about it because we were on holiday. The major problem with the hotel was that they ripped us off; one night we decided to stay in and pay to watch the films that were on, which were "Little Miss Sunshine" and "The Prestige", we watched one of them and although it was quiet, it was okay, however, the next film didnt come on. We went downstairs to ask about it after waiting an hour and they told us to ask in the morning. We didn't mind this as the card in the room said we paid 13.50 Euros for 24 hours. We asked in the morning and they said theyd put it on in the afternoon, we told them it was quiet but they said there was nothing they could do, we said we might aswell watch it as we had paid for it. They agreed on reception. We could hardly hear it and ended up turning it off before it finished, although it was a good film. However, when we went to check out the next morning, they asked to another 13.50 Euros. We said no, as we had already paid. It was then that they told us that the 24 hours is charged from 11am to 11am the next day regardless of which time you start watching it, having never mentioned any of this the day before when they knew we were going to watch it, it was blatantly obvious that they knew we would have to pay again and gave us no warning. We ended up paying 27 Euros (approximatley £18) to watch two films we could hardly hear! When we said to the woman at the reception that we hadn't known this she simply told us we must still pay, even though it meant we did not have enough money for our taxi. It was really upsetting as we had tolerated a lot from the hotel, with the cleaner coming into out room whilst we were still in bed, having to be out for certain times and then being ripped off in an extremely rude manor! Overall, the holiday was good but due to the attitude of the staff at this hotel and the fact they expect you to stay away during the day I would not recommend staying here to anyone!
