“Good location + rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Stayed here for 1 night on a business trip. The hotel is located centrally; the room I stayed in was a corner room (overlooking the street) and hence quite big. It also has a couple of good restaurants (had heard a lot about the japanese restaurant but unfortunately it was closed as I arrived late). Will definitely stay again

Biggest rooms (deluxe executive super something 160 euro net) for 3 persons have only one chair, no sofa, no bathrobes, no slippers, lousy beddings, nothing works
requests from the reception need 24 hours and 4-6 times asking to get e.g. a bathrobe.
public parking is dirty, full, unconfortable and 22 euro per night.
the looby is tiny but they have to put some stupid car in it to market.
Pool nice but closes on Monday morning so that the 50 euro voucher for entry is useless that day.
Drunks, prostitutes, junkies all over the streets, 24/7
We will noot come back.

We chose this hotel having previously stayed before.

The hotel is modern and with an oriental style, on a relatively quiet street just minutes from the main train station and shopping district.
Rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms fairly modern with Molton Brown toiletries.
Breakfast is a good choice with seating indoors and outdoors.

We were provided a smoking room on check-in, which we were not aware of until we arrived at our room door. We returned to Reception to be informed they were fully booked and could not move us until the next day. I appreciate them being full but why not just inform us whilst checking in that they had allocated us a smoking room due to business levels??
It was also disappointing over breakfast to have a leak in the ceiling above which did not seem to be given any urgency. No wet floor signs, no buckets to collect the water, just wet carpet and the nearest table "reserved" to avoid anyone sitting too close. The breakfast team didnt seem too worried nor did the manager close by. For a 4 star hotel it was a shame to see this.

All in all this hotel is normally a good choice when visiting Dusseldorf, however on this occasion it fell short.

I used to live in Dusseldorf and went back for a weekend to visit friends. we stayed in Hotel Nikko and had a great stay. The location is excellent, it is only a 7 minute walk from the main train station so excellent if you want to explore other parts of Germany by train and travel around. It is also only a few minutes walk from the main shopping areas Schadowstrasse, Konigsallee and Ko Bogen. Again the hotel is only a short walk from the Altstadt, Rhein Promenade and nightlife. If you don't feel like walking much there is an underground stop around the corner from the hotel.
We asked for a quiet room and we got one. We got a great nights sleep, very quiet and very comfortable beds. I heard that a lot of the rooms had been recently decorated, the room we stayed in was quite dated, so not one of those recently decorated but it was very comfortable and big enough.
The breakfast was 25 euro each which is very expensive, we didn't get breakfast in the hotel, instead we went to the Rhein Promenade and sat along the Rhein and enjoyed a lovely breakfast each morning (only 4.90 euro for bread roll, crossant, brown bread, cheese, ham, boiled egg, jam and butter!).
In summary Hotel Nikko was perfect for our stay, great location and comfortable beds.

Spacious room. Great amenities including top floor large pool with views of Dusseldorf. Within walking distance to Rhine, Altstadt and Konigsalee. Near main train station.

Staff are a mixed bag which is unfortunate for a hotel like this. Would advise persistence in getting issues solved since the answers provided may sometimes not be correct.
