Ideal place to stay when visiting Christmas markets. Great hotel lovely comfy rooms with toiletries and a good hairdryer. There is a lift and it is between floors so you may need to carry cases up about 10 stairs but then it reduces the noise level when the lift not next to rooms, a good idea. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Tea and coffee available at reception 24 hours. Close to shops and station. There was a wide choice of breakfast foods constantly being replenished. a lovely place to stay. We traveled from the airport by train it was very easy and cheap.

Room Tip: we had rooms at the back and they were spacious and quiet.( 208 & 308)

Thx to Monopol Hotel & staff. Good location - near the railway station about 5-7 min of walk. Comfortable for people who plan travel to other cities using train.
Very tasty breakfest: omelette, sausage, cheese, good coffe, bread & fruits (yes absolutely tasty fruit!!!). Also you can have free coffe on reception. Not so good wi-fi but enough for mail & social web. Password for all gadgets separately & for free too.
Near tha hotel you find Schumacher beer bar with the best alt beer in Dusseldorf. Old city is about 10 min walk through the King avenue & shops.
I hope you will have good weekend with Monopol Hotel as I.

We stayed at this hotel for five nights. We were in a room on the top floor at the back of the hotel. There isn't a lift so we did have to carry heavy bags, that wasn't a problem for us, but it would be if you're elderly or disabled. The room was big enough for three adults, it was spotlessly clean and had a well stocked mini bar. It was silent at night, maybe because we were at the back. All the staff were very polite and helpful. The breakfast was very nice. Lots of choice, yogurt, cereal, cold meats and cheese, fruit and a hot choice of bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs.
I was a fifteen minute taxi ride from the airport. The location of the hotel is perfect as it's just on the outskirts of the city. There is a traditional German pub very close to the hotel. I would recommend that you book in advance if you want to eat there as it gets very busy. The food and beer is highly recommended. We walked into the city every day, which took around fifteen minutes. However, there are trams and an underground station near by. I would recommend this hotel if you're visiting Düsseldorf and I will definitely be staying there again.

Arrived late to be greeted by a pleasant and polite night porter who offered a juice on arrival, rooms are very very small. Our room was a double but it was difficult for two people to get dressed at the same time. Breakfast was very good but supplies were slow to be replenished throughout the Morning. Good Location about a seven minute walk to Dusseldorf HBF and a 20 minute walk towards the River. Free wifi and complimentary tea/coffee facilities in the reception area. Lovely traditional bar/microbrewery and restaurant a few doors up the street. Schumachers I think its called.

When my mom and I arrived at the hotel, exhausted from an early
flight and getting to and from the airport, only to find that we were
given a room in the back of the hotel, on the third floor mansard without an
elevator! We had to carry our luggage ourselves, which was 2, each
weighting 20 kg, plus hand luggage, without any help. When asked
about the situation they replied that it wasn't their problem we had
so many luggage, well, sorry, we're on a holiday not on a business
trip. They offered to change the room the other day which was
useless, since we were only staying for two days. I had no
information about this situation from the hotel, I definitely did not
expect this, the hotel clearly stated on the website that they had an
elevator, like all normal and civilized hotels do. We booked a hotel
in the city, not in a village. Had I known about this, I would have
booked a room at the hotel in front, at almost the same price, and
with much better service, I'm sure. We requested a refund on the day we arrived but they declined rudely, because the room was booked through booking.com. They wouldn't even let us talk to the manager. I left a review on the website, but I guess they decided to not publish it, which surprised me. I wonder how many more bad reviews they ignored. This is unacceptable.

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel!

Very close to the station and city center. The comfort is average but the staff is very polite and debonair. Tea and coffee service is free and available 24hr. Wi-fi connection is free but not available in every room. Breakfast is fairly well.
