“service needs to improve, otherwise great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

once they will sort out the service, it will be a good choice, quiet, nice, modern, good location and nice and clear rooms; both check in and check out was just not as it should be: check in not friendly, inefficient and lengthy. checkout: too many people (line of 20+) and only 2 staff (at least they were nice)

Room Tip: view to the park, not main street

Stayed here for a weekend at the beginning of April on a room only basis so I can't comment on Breakfast or any other restaurant or meal arrangements, The hotel is located just off Hofgarten Park and is a good 10 minute walk back through the park in order to reach the Alstadt, Rhein riverside area, Konigsalle and the shopping areas. You can easy do shopping then land your stuff back at the hotel then head back out again as the walk isn't too much of drama! Lovely modern spacious rooms which are decorated very contemporary and super clean! Flatscreen TV but only english channel is BBC world news, There's also a fridge for your supermarket beers and wine, The room allocated to us had a walk in shower but no bath, In the Hofgarten Park and only 5 minutes walk is the tram station Tonhalle Ehrenhof to which you can get a tram direct to Dusseldorf Hbf which takes only 5 minutes and from there you can go on to the Airport, Overall, This is a real smart hotel although not central but certainly within resonable walking distance of all the sights and experiences Dusseldorf has to offer, Highly recommended!

Spent three nights in March for business. Hotel is in a nice quiet location, walking distance to the old city. Only a few minutes walk to the subway. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All spoke English. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, a lot of selection of hot and cold dishes.

I have stayed here 4x on business (good rates for my company).

Location quite good & quiet!
Rooms stylish and comforable, especially the beds
Staff, for a German hotel very friendly (in German and English, I speak both)
Breakfast - good selection and courteous staff!

Only problem I ever had was my fault, forgot to mention I have a down allergy and came in a 22:00. So no house keeping to bring new linen! Next time I visited, this was already noted and a hypoallergetic room booked. . so have to give 5 ***** as a repeat visitor.

I've been there twice for business, it's a nice hotel with a modern touch. The rooms were large enough, airy and well kept - the carpets on the florrs are decaying though, hopefully to be replaced soon - it gives the place an unwarranted shabby look.
The taxi booth outside only holds 2 or 3 cabs though - busy morning checkout time empties the lane quickly so once I had to wait for 10 minutes to wait for another one.
A big plus is the Spa - it's still fairly new, it has a nice athmosphere and three saunas - plus its usually not very busy, so perfect for a quiet wind-down after a tough day.
Would definitely come back.

We've been in Düsseldorf 10 times the passed three years and the last 9 times we stayed at this hotel. :)
Need I say more? Yes? Okay: the rooms are nice, breakfast is wonderful, free sauna, it's close to Altstadt, only 7-8 minutes walk to Köningsallee.. ! We'll be back ;)

I agree with all the other reviewers on the great location and nice, spotless decor. The hotel is Spanish owned, which manifests itself mainly in a huge collage of Spanish personalities on one wall of the hotel restaurant and good looking Spanish waiters :-).
We stayed the night from New Year's eve to New Year's day and spent a good deal of the evening in the "Purple bar". It does all the cocktails you would expect, including lots of alcohol-free 'driver cocktails'. Note that it is not a tapas bar: the bar snacks are nachos, caesar salad and hamburger. We thought they would be less calorific than the four-course New Year's eve dinner in the restaurant, but the hamburgers are enormous - about three times the size of a normal one.
Keeping to our new year's resolutions (at least for one day!) we started New Year's day with a visit to the hotel gym and were pleased that the equipment was of good quality and felt brand new.
Breakfast on New Year's day was extended until midday, so we went there for brunch (which made it guilt free) and ate our way through pretty much everything - the hot English breakfast, the German bread rolls and cold meats, the muesli, yoghurt, fruit ... everything was lovely. For fans of jam, the jam bar deserves a special mention, because it has lots of novel varieties - chilli jam, banana jam, strawberry and chocolate jam ...
Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Some rooms have walk-in showers and others bathtubs with showers.
