I never understood Ibis, they say 4 stars (as price) valued 2: micro-rooms (cemetery holes) with no fridge, no wardrobe, mini-micro bathroom.
Ibis budget is definitely worse.
Bathroom is 1x1 m with no fan (no fan at all!). And only wc in. Lavatory and shower in room. Lavatory is 20x20cm, shower is nice. Bring everthing you may need: flip flops (ok, only a few hotels 5star have for guests), floor towels (after shower, you walk...), shampoo, shower gel, they don't provide nor sell anything. Bring adaptors for power supply. Bring duvets: rooms are climatized but is not working hot/cold air system. Why? It's May. Ok, outside day high is 17C nite low 7C...crazy.
Plastic room, with 1 shelf and openair wardrobe (see pics, my room is the largest, for 3 people, a family). No airdryer, no kleenex. Window is working, you may open (not too much, otherwise too cold or too hot and no airconditioning). Curtain has 3 positions: open, closed, mid position.
Don't know if at the end of my stay I've to clean the room.
The hotel has 6 floor, 32rooms per flor and 1 unique vendor machine with some snacks and drinks (1 water sparkling only, 1 coke, 1 beer, 1 apple juice), only euros only coins, all messages are in Deutch. At check in (7pm) I went to buy a water bottle 1.6euros, put coins, nothing happened, strange Deutch message, ask reception: it's empty, I'm sorry he (a gentle guy) said. I'm sorry too...no water for my first nite (apart the one from lavatory)...
So, 0 stars. The low cost line of a low value chain. Take your conclusions. May I humbly suggest something? Choice another country, another hotel chain for your stay. If forced for job, be prepared, bring your furnitures.
Breakfast is terrific, at least at regular price (8$), in any case plastic food apart some apples, boiled eggs. Lane restaurant self service, breakfast only.
Tv has 40 channels, all in Deucth, no way to change. By the way, this reflects the rest of the city: no one speaking English, central station info corner, metro, buses, terrific, only Deutch (german) language. Banners, pannels for train stations, directions, aereoport, Germany only.
Bring euros! No one accept foreign curreny, no one accepts ccards (I've all, visa, jc, master, amex, not accepted). Beware of taxi! Bus tickets are sold by machines (coins only !!!), high price (2nd class weekly ticket is 22.4€ in coins only!! - one ride ticket is 1.9€ in coins only), crazy metro map, no one is able to explain you if "str3" is a train metro bus tram or other... All messages and voice next stop announcements are in Deutch only. Deuth all over.
Is this the so famous EU Union Germany centric? Apart the Deutch Mark, suppressed in favour of a disaster euro currency, the rest is pure Deutch isolation (Cologne). What a disaster my dear Merckel: look at your country instead at EU banks!
City is dirty but so dirty that you cannot imagine.
ONLY if forced to take a room there, avoid the 6th last floor in fall winter and early spring, too c...
