“Great local Brewhouse and resturant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

We visited while on tour, 11 hungry musicians, the staff was a bit up-tight but the food was amazing, great variety of dishes. Try the local beer of course! We had the goulash soup to start with, a great duck, delicious brisket with mashed potatoes and good fish. About 20-25 euro per person

“Hansa festival in a braugasthaus!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

Took a short train jaunt from our anchorage in Warnemunde and stumbled along the festival on the pier in Rostock until we came to "Zum alten Fritz"! A wonderful experience enhanced by the coincidence of Hansa Sailing Festival. Schweinhaxe, schnitzel, flam kuchen and of course schnapps and beer!

“Excellent food and beer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012 via mobile

This place seems quite popular and I understand why. Great selection of beers and well prepared traditional german food. Friendly service.
I would love to come back, highly recommended.

“Surprisingly good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2011

Have eaten there a few times over the last few years, due to it's location and their lovely beer garden. However the food kept disappointing to a point, where going there for a beer was the the only option.
I don't know what they have done, but it works now. Great choice of food, very good quality and huge portions. Of course the beer should bementioned. I can't wait to return there on my next visit. It's not cheap either but good value for money. Service can be slow at times, nobody is perfect. Absolutely recommendable to anyone really, couples, groups young and old.

“Excellent ! cozy, yummy!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2011

I actually visited in Sept 2010. Everything was just wonderful, the atmosphere was very cozy.. a rustic cozy feel, wooden tables and chairs.. the food was wonderful, i had the pasta with shrimp and it was excellent! the beer of course is great there, i bought some to bring home with me to the US as well, i also bought a few of the mini beer mugs from their gift shop. Highly recommend, great food, location and atomsphere and service! it also looks like this would be fun place to go for happy hour, or at night for drinks.. its just that kind of cozy atmosphere that you just want to be there!! its really a nice place!!
