“This is a truly beautiful Hotel - in a stunning old town.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2014

Osnabruck is an interesting University town and the old city delightful. The Walhalla Hotel is right in the heart of the cobbled lanes and historic buildings and our recent stay in this truly beautiful hotel was delightful. Our bedroom was large and tastefully decorated. The bedding was divine. The downstairs bars and restaurants were superb and the staff unobtrusive, professional and helpful. I cannot wait to stay there again.

Well, what a lovely hotel. The staff are friendly the rooms are well clean, warm and are very comfortable. The eating area gives a good choice for lunch and dinners. Breakfast is OK and the only thing that lets down this hotel. Some staff at breakfast were not the friendliest and not very helpful. It is a pain to have to keep walking up and down stairs to get your breakfast because it is on two level so the staff should be a little more understanding as it is not the best way to serve breakfast. It isn't all the staff only a couple but they do spoil it. For what is on offer for breakfast, then it is good enough for anyone that is hungry. A typical European breakfast in most local hotels.
The reception staff and everyone else we bumped into in the hallways were lovely. The bar area was ran well and staff friendly.
Right in the middle of town so walking distance to everything.
Generally overall, an excellent hotel.

Room Tip: We went into a triple room so our room was huge. You may be just a little more but if you want a la...

+ Placement is great in the middle of old city and a good xmas market just outside your door. Good restaurant. large comfortable room and very clean. Very quiet at night. Wifi good. Service very good and efficient. had forgot my razor and asked if they had one - got a package with a razor and cream for free - not the best quality but did the job.
I wanted to have my room one night longer. Asked reception after breakfast and got a good room rate the extra night for my double room.

- A very large holder for my room key - old fashion type. You will hear the vacuuming in the morning, but they don't start that early so it is ok. You need to get a code for Wifi that needs Your signature and only in the lobby - ask on arrival. But the receptionist came to my room with it 0400 in the morning - good service. My double bed was 2 large singles together acceptable.
No elevator for second floor in the part of building I was - I don't need one so no problem.

In total a great hotel in a charming small German city with nice people and good service around You. A good place for a relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: I had 226, but I would suppose it is good all over.

Charming hotel, great friendly staff, good breakfast, great atmosphere. Free decent wifi, very good coffee, great area of Osnabruck. Was very impressed. Would definitely stay there again. Was very relaxing, decent bed, plenty of plug sockets in the room and they had face cloths in bathroom (don't know why it's important to me! It just is!!) was a relaxing stay. Very enjoyable hotel.

The Romantik Hotel Walhalla in Osnabrueck is a quality hotel, centrally located in the Old Town section, excellent rooms, excellent service, and a choice of restaurants both in the hotel and in the surrounding area. The breakfast buffet is ample with a variety of dishes. And the hotel is quite reasonably priced.

We stayed at the Hotel Walhalla when we went to Osnabruck Germany. I love the hotel, old, charming, everything you would think a hotel built that long ago would be. The attached restaurant is wonderful, and the breakfast each day was great. They would ask how I wanted my eggs cooked, then there was a small buffet with many different meats, breads and yummy things to chose from. We will definitely stay again when we go back.

Romantik Hotel Walhalla is potentially a very good hotel, but they loose a lot of points, if not all, on their beds. We stayed two nights in the Historical Room. A beautiful, spacious room, with a similar beautiful bathroom. Great. But then we went to sleep. The first things were the duvets. I really can't understand what's romantic about two single duvets for a couple. On two separate mattresses. In a Romantik hotel! (And, please put slips on the duvet covers, so you can put these under the mattress and keep your feet warm!) But than the mattresses, these were so hard, we both couldn't catch sleep both nights. The whole night we were turning, and turning, to find a comfortable lay, but we couldn't find it. On top of this, the Historical Room is adjacent a street with some bars. Both nights, Friday and Saturday, we had passers-by until about 4 at night. Who also kept us awake both nights. We told the reception about our experiences, and they explained it were new mattresses, that was why they were so hard. They knew the complaint! So there had been guests before us, complaining about it, and they thought 'well, these mattresses will worn out by itself, so we're not going to do anything about it. Their sleepless nights are our guests problems, not ours.' Incredible, and so different from our general experiences in Germany, which is mostly very good. Shameful and embarrassing.

Room Tip: Check the mattresses, ask for a king size duvet in stead of two singles when traveling as acouple, d...
