“Uncomfortable bed, average service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2010

This hotel is off A 66. If you have a car, it's OK; otherwise, it is 6 miles to downtown Wiesbaden. The beds are very hard, and the pillows are very thin. When we arrived, we were given a room that was not cleaned at all. We were given another room, in which AC was not working properly. It took them 24 hours to give us extra pillows. The soap is wall based in the bathroom. When the bottle got empty and was not refilled, we had to go to the front desk again. We were a party of 2 women and 1 man. The front desk emplyee, after some struggle, gave us a new bottle of soap and said to the man in our party: "You are a man, you will know how to install it." The telephone system in this hotel is very funny: you can receive calls but you cannot call anywhere yourself. They are well aware of the problem, but nobody does anything about it, at least, not when we were there. You have to call from the front desk. The breakfast was OK. Adjacent to the hotel is a schnitzel restaurant. The portions are huge, the dishes are all very fatty. Parking is free at the back of the hotel. Overall, you can survive there for several days.

My boyfriend and I went to Germany just before Christmas so we could see the markets and meet up with a few of my friends from when I used to live there. Besides the price we chose this hotel because it was very close to Wiesbaden which is where i grew up. We rented a car but ended up using the public transportation which was close by and very cheap and dependable. the hotel itself was nice, the staff spoke English which helped a lot and were able to find bus times and help us with our travel plans. the hotel does not have a restaurant for evening service but attached to the building is a restaurant and bar which served nice German food and had quite a few locals in it which is always a good sign. even though the bar staff didn't speak English they tried to make conversation which was fun.

the hotel room was spacious, a lot like Travelodge. we asked for a non smoking room which i think we got but the hallway stunk of stale smoke. the window overlooked the carpark/ motorway/ airfield. since we weren't familiar with the area we liked to be able to see our car from the window. the bathroom was clean but after a shower the floor would be soaked since the shower curtain didn't go to the floor.

Breakfast was described as an American buffet and being American myself my expectations were a lot different to what was delivered. There were some pastries, a bit of cereal and i believe some cooked food. nothing appealed very much to us so we skipped breakfast most days.

The area is residential and close to a petrol station. i felt very safe walking about the streets to get to the bus stop. the airfield is for small planes so there was little or no noise.

i look back on this holiday with a smile but wished that the smell of stale smoke could be fixed in the hallways.

We spent 4 nights at the Eurohotel prior to returning to the US and found it to be comfortable, clean and basic. Though it isn't a luxury hotel it is located only about 10 minutes from Wiesbaden by autobahn and a few minutes more by back roads. The staff was nice and helpful, and the buffet breakfast was very good.
