I stayed here in October, however a friend picked the hotel so I didn't know what it was going to be like beforehand.
The hotel is the most bare and empty hotel I have ever been in. I spend a lot of time in hostels when I travel and this was really more of a hostel in my eyes than a hotel.
The rooms were very small, with high ceilings, and were very dark, even with the lights on. There was a lot of noise from the street outside even with the window closed, and I could hear some noise through the walls too. The bed was quite hard and not very comfortable. It was also a very small single. The furniture in the bedroom was old too and I didn't really like it.. However the bathroom I thought was lovely and the shower was great.
It got quite cold a few nights so I turned on the radiator, which was very loud so I couldn't really keep it on while I went to sleep because it kept waking me up! But the room did heat up quite quickly which is good.
The breakfast was nice too. I think it was also a bit expensive.
The big BIG problem I had with the hotel was there was nowhere to go but your room after 8pm. The breakfast area is a long narrow place on the ground floor where the reception desk is. After 8pm the receptionist leaves and locks this room so you cannot go in. After this time you need to use your room key to get in a door slightly to the side and this brings you to a narrow hallway to the stairwell up to the rooms. So there is nowhere to sit or even to meet. Also I'm not sure what you do if you have any problems during the night. This is another reason why I thought it wasn't a very good hotel.
The location is good and we walked in about 15 minutes with bags from the train station. It was really close to the shopping streets and all the sights we wanted to see. The road is quite a big one and well lit so we felt safe coming back in the dark.
I think if it had not been so expensive I would have been happy to stay here however I feel it wasn't worth the amount of money we paid. (€184 for two nights.)
