As mentioned in other reviews, Cafe Maldaner is a traditional German eatery. As I understand from my German instructor it is really the only one of it's type left in Wiesbaden. It is located downtown, about a two block walk from the markt kirche. If you are visiting the area for a short stay you will want to make reservations in advance. This is an EXTREMELY POPULAR establishment with both the local clientele and tourist. I've been three times and and it's always full from open to close. We were unable to get a table on one visit, and I've been told by friends that if the wait staff gets overwhelmed with their current tables they will not serve new clients. If you a party of two, you may want to try the Maldaner Fruhstuck. This is a classic German fare; three tier serving plate that consist of meats, cheeses, breads and spreads. You will have your choice of sekt or fresh orange juice. And you can also have scrambled eggs
( I highly recommend) rather than the usual poached style egg. The interior is very lovely and you can easily lose track of time while enjoying the establishment and your party. I don't recommend this establishment for families with small children because the tables are very close to each other. Barely room for the wait staff to serve.
