“Palmengarten - an oasis in the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

Spent today in the Palmengarten. Well worth the visit, esp. what seems to be an endless maze of glasshouses -- tropical, desert, temperate -- the Tropicarium. On and on. and in addition to the main Palmhaus. Especially since the day was cold and cloudy. Great photography opportunities for the plant and flower lover. We timed our visit for the chrysanthemum show -- small but exquisite -- Oct 11-November. I can easily that when the weather is warm and sunny this is the place to hang out, Paddle boats for the family, lots of places to spend and afternoon. And the Siesmayer cafe... Oh the tortes and cakes, along with coffees and teas. Good way to end the visit and end the day. If I were retired in Frankfurt, I would spend many a day here. My hat is off to the folks who keep this place so nice.

“Definitely worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

I'm not normally the type who would pay to visit a garden, but Palmengarten is an exception. I originally only went there to see as I had a free pass, being a student in Frankfurt at the time. However, I soon returned - bringing my parents with me. The plants were very interesting, and there were all sorts of animals in the lake if you looked closely. Definitely recommended for anyone interested in nature.

“Huge park in north are is city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

New restaurant, LaFleur, operated by chef and manager from Tiger Palatz, is superb, but you need to make reservations in advance and then make sure you have address and telephone number because most taxis do not know where it is in Palmengarter.

“Plants you can only dream of”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

There are plants at the Palmengartens that look like they come out of a fairy tale. If it exists, I think it is here! Beautiful park walks indoor and outdoor areas. Play areas for children, boat area.

“The Cactus display is amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

A lovely botanical garden with a good variety of displays. While mid September isn't the best time to look for blooms, we thought the cactus display was incredible, especially in this location. The tortes in the cafe were to die for and the site of people feeding bread to enormous carp by hand was very entertaining ( I wouldn't do it though).
