“Good for a night or too, near the main rail station.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013 via mobile

The pros and cons are:
* good price.
* near Frankfurt main railway station, walking may be for 10 minutes.
* the main shopping area, like the Zeil street shopping stores are about 15-20 minutes walking.
* many near-by restaurants offering average price meals.
* good open buffet breakfast, although items are less diverse.
* nice reception employees.
* the rooms are basically clean although the towels looks old and slightly smelly.
* the corridor of the first floor is slightly smelly.
* the coffee is not served fresh-brewed unless requested.
* free wifi is an advantage although you should request a user name and password from the reception to connect to the internet through the hot spot and they sometimes give it for 24 hrs or sometimes 48 hrs.
* an old safe is available but is working well.
* my room was room 12 in the first floor. The view from the window is not interesting as it shows the car parks and some buildings.

It is a good choice if using the rail station is required or saving budget is a priority. I think that, with few added cost, one can get a better hotel especially if he is a part of a group or a family trip and need to stay for several days.

One of the last few hotels that were available as the exhibition was nearing.
But, was a nice find for us- location being the best. Good restaurants are within 5 mins walk. Number of other restaurants and groceries are available nearby.
Friendly front-desk person and ok-type breakfast- can be improved further.
Rooms are pretty small but surprisingly packed with good amount of wardrobes.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms NOT opening towards the road

Stayed here one night as transit on way to Amsterdam. After arriving at Frankfurt airport we caught the s train into Frankfurt main station - ticket machine states you will need exact change - €4.40 per single ticket (although it did give us change). Walk from station to hotel was short but not really a very nice part of town. Check in was seamless & friendly. Turn right out of hotel & short walk later you are in beautiful old district area.
The rooms we had (34) was a good size, clean, had mini bar but no tea/coffee making facilities (hotel had bar area in reception where you can purchase hot/cold drinks though apparently), beds were 2 single beds placed together & were comfortable (i struggled a little with the pillow though) Room was quiet - we had very restful night. Shower had good water pressure, soap provided but no shampoo/conditioner.
Overall I'd say it was a good find & worth a stay if you we're in the area.

After a flight from Singapore, we decided on a single night in Frankfurt. Close to the main station and downtown. Located in the Turkish area, it has donor kebab shop next door if you need a bite to eat and a Indian grocer across the road for drinks and nibbles.
Good points...close to train station and downtown. Place was clean and well presented. Staff were helpful. Shower was welcoming after travelling and bed was comfortable, albeit a little soft.
Not so good points...There is a tram outside the window which runs all night. Most of the noise is blocked, but that tram can be heard clearly. A street light that lit up the bathroom and confused my jet lagged body, thinking the sun was still up at 1:00am.
With the donor kebab shop next door, a common hang out after a night out the work over, it makes for the locals yelling down the street in the early hours a delightful experience. At least I knew I was in civialization once again, after the quiet of Singapore.
All round had a reasonable night sleep for the cost and woke feeling refreshed and ready for travel once again.
Not recommended for a long stay...2 nights at most.

Room Tip: I stayed on the street side...too noisy.

I booked through the internet as a four star hotel BUT unfortunately was DIRTY! DIRTY! DIRTY! and unkempt.
I don't know what to refer primarily ... maybe the noise that could be heard outside ...... the awful smell in the room ... terrible towels, bathroom dirty, dust everywhere, dirty windows, dirty walls, broken mirror. The air conditioning :) was represented by an old fan placed in the closet.
Finally I can say is stay away!

Room Tip: For a good room certainly should search for another hotel!

We had two nights at the Memphis Hotel.

It seemed to be well located. (we weren't there for an extnded expolration of the city)

The rooms were small but adequate. The rooms were clean and non-smoking.

Breakfast was not included in the tarriff we booked but at 4 euros represented good value.

My impressions of Memphis are ambivalent. Positive is the reception that was very friendly and competent. Nor, of course, is that a car park is available (10 euros per day). Negative is that the room is very small and has seen better days. Tip: Choose rooms can to the backyard, because the rooms to the main road can be noisy.
