I took my party of 8 to Topo Gigio in Frankfurt this past week and the dinner was absolutely outstanding! I have visited this restaurant many times during the last 8 or 9 years and it continues to amaze everyone I take there. The owner is one of the nicest and most attentive hosts you'll encounter. He is virtually always there and oversees everything about the experience. I would highly recommend most anything on the menu but the mushrooms, gnochi, beef, and lamb were heavenly last night. Be prepared to look for this place and don't be put off by it's humble exterior appearance. It's definitely off the beaten path. You can walk there in about 10 minutes from the Marriott Hotel on Hamburger Allee. It's a small and intimate setting and hardly ever crowded. They have a small outdoor seating area in front but I prefer the dining room inside. At this point, I don't order from the menu anymore but simply ask the owner to bring us what's good and fresh that day including his choices of wines which are always good. Honestly, this is a great place to eat if you're in Frankfurt. Parking is a little tough in this area. I always park in the parking garage that is immediately next to the Marriott Hotel. It almost always has spots available and is close enough to the restaurant to easily walk there.
