I had some business in Frankfurt first thing the next morning so I decided to take a late night train to Frankfurt and stay at a hotel near the train station. Having had enough of the Excelsior, I decided to try a different hotel and chose this one on the basis of reviews on TripAdvisor.
The hotel is very easy to get to from the train station. The neighborhood is not the most wholesome, but neither did it strike me as being dangerous. Once you are inside the hotel though, you forget about what's outside.
The receptionist was very friendly and efficient. I got a quiet room in a corner as requested (and thanks to the reviewer who suggested that guests specify that they want a room that does not face the street). The single room was clean, simple and very functional, although I could see that someone who had to stay there for more than a few days might start to feel claustrophobic, as it was a small room (same goes for the bathrooom). However, since I only needed a night's sleep, the size of the room and the lack of free WiFi did not bother me.
Breakfast was sufficient though not great and the service was friendly.
A good choice if you're staying in Frankfurt for a night or two.
