“Great stay...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012

We stayed at this hotel for the first time from 15-18th December....It was a very comfortable stay as accompanying me were my wife and 2 year old daughter. The location of the hotel is great as it is just a few minutes to Zeil (main shopping area), altstatd and the christmas market. The sub way is also very close and travelling from this hotel is very easy.
There are a couple of coffee shops right in front of the hotel where we enjoyed our coffee sometimes and also breakfast. Towards the old town there are great restaurants to dine in but the hotel does have some very good food especially in their cottage which was operational at that time. The room service was also great as we did order in the room too.
The staff is very cordial and looks after your needs. The rooms and bathrooms are a very good size for Germany and spacious.
Overall, I would definately stay here if i get a good deal on the rooms.

Room Tip: Rooms on the inside are less noisy...

to enter this outstanding place, just ask the concierge or go from the outside through the patio, to your right hand, up into the first floor.
very exquisite ambience, huge selection of finest havannas and and spirits! search or reserve for the backroom where you'll find a lovely fireplace within a wooden-paneled libary and 4 comfortable club tables. ideal for nightdowners, after diner business discussions or a sweet
"tete à tete" with your loved one.
the service is first class! a charming lady is helping you to select your cigar, prepares it in the most professional way and all you have to do ,is to lean back and enjoy your after day relaxing havanna! a huge selection of brown, white and dark chocolates are served automatically.
it's the place to go - only insiders know about it- you can't go wrong!

The first hotel of our four city European honeymoon. It had a nicely lit and inviting lobby, with a top notch friendly staff. The room was very well laid out, however, the lights was a bit low. And that is the only thing that I can comment on in the hotel. There was a nice lodge constructed in the courtyard of the hotel as a winter bar. The piano bar was very nice and the piano player had a great voice playing to the songs of louis Armstrong. Even though the hotel was undergoing some renovation on the other wing, it was made sure that the guest do not feel any inconvenience of the such.

When you are traveling to Frankfurt, you have the choice between many hotels - I personally prefer hotels with character, reason why I stayed at the Frankfurter Hof. This is a typical "old" grand hotel, with all the details and also some bad taste like the carpets, but that's part of the whole picture.

Service at the reception could be better, but besides this, the personnel is very nice and attentive. Rooms are quite large, but if you have bad luck, you have to walk five kilometers (OK, I'm exaggerating a little bit) between the reception and the room - the hotel is very very large.

The entire hotel would deserve a little bit of refurbishing, but again, that can also be considered as part of the character.

To sum it up: a nice alternative to the "modern" hotels in Frankfurt, well located if you want to do a little bit more than just business meetings.

No free internet - that's a pity.

Nice Roo 's, great location but heavily overpriced. Breakfast buffet was charged at €33. When i complained about THE price ( I only took some bread, honey and fruitjuice) they lowered THE price to €25. Which is overrated as well. they also charged me for chaging the booking for € 50, eventhough we changed THE booking 1 week in advance.

Traditionally this is one of the best hotels of Frankfurt / Main. We were very happy with the service and all as we are "old" guests of this house. The splendor is still ubiquitous. Especially during Christmas time many special receptions and gala dinners are held here. The hotel is indeed right in the middle of town. We enjoyed a rich breakfast with all kinds of freshly squeezed juices - it was included in our rate > tip - special rates over the weekend!
The internet was not included in the rate and a bit too expensive thus we used our own Swiss phones to get a connection which was still cheaper.

Considering the price for a room, it was a disappointment to learn that neither Internet connection nor breakfast was included. Breakfast costs 30€...
The room was ok, clean and warm.
Very impressive building and good location for downtown shoppers.
But, overall unnecessarily expensive, not good value.
