“Well located and clean hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

We have been 2 times there, once we had a standard room and once we have been upgraded, the only difference noticed is the size of the bed (I believe 1,6 m for the standard room and 2 m for the upgraded). In both cases rooms were very clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. Beds are confortable but pillows are huge and may not be OK for everybody. Hotel is located in front of the train station and even if it is a potentially noisy quarter we have not been disturbed by the noise thanks to good quality windows (since AC is available windoy can be closed at night even when hot weather). Some rooms are very close to the lift so if you want to be sure not to be disturbed you better specify that you want a quiet room not close to the lift. Breakfast is buffet type, nice variety and quality. There is no parking available in the hotel itself but there is quiet a lot of possibilities to park around the hotel in paying parking or in the street. The only negative point is the internet access not included into the price of the room and really very expensive if you want to get it as an extra.

The room we stayed in was a typical European room which means that it was small. My bed sheets had mystery stains on them. My duvet had holes in it along the seams (my sisters did not). Unfortunately there was no free Wi-Fi. Staff members were nice. Breakfast was adequate. The location is okay but the hotel is in a sketchy area due to its proximity to the train station.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Hamburger Hof for 4 days during a trip throughout Germany. We made day trips to multiple cities and locations from Frankfurt, and that was made very easy due to the Hotel Hamburger Hof's location. Pretty much everything was top notch at the hotel, here is a list of pros and cons:

Pros
- Very modern, updated decor from the second you walk in to your room.
- Bathroom was one of the best I've been in - completely modern, clean, uber-functional, and a monster walk-in shower (no tub).
- Superb location, as mentioned. Right next to the main train station, you just walk across the street and in. It may not be the most safe area at night in Frankfurt, but I never felt threatened.
- Despite the inner-city location, the rooms are very quiet, didn't seem to even be room-to-room noise.
- Breakfast was great, with even a hot choice (bacon, etc.), plenty of cold meats, cereals, pastries, fruits, you name it.
- Concierge and staff was great; any issues we had were quickly remedied and done so with courtesy.

Cons
- The elevator is not meant for luggage. Best to use the stairs for that - while rated for 5 persons, I wouldn't put more than three close friends on that elevator - *very* small.
- Room was smallish, but perfectly adequate and likely on par with other hotel room sizes throughout Europe/Germany.
- One of the complimentary bathroom amenities *not* included was skin lotion. Bring your own if you stay here.
- Large windows, but not much of a view, more of an air shaft so you get indirect light but good ventilation if necessary.
- A bit expensive, but I'd say it's worth it.
- Wifi is not free and is in fact ridiculously expensive - use the Starbucks in the train station next door for free access.

One tip - if you want the air conditioning to work, make sure the windows are closed. There's a connection to the A/C unit that prevents it from turning on if the windows are open. Makes perfect sense, just found out by accident!

I'd definitely recommend the Hotel Hamburger Hof to either pleasure or business travelers (assuming the costs work out) - it was a great place to stay and I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: I stayed in room 304 - but as mentioned, the rooms are very soundproof, so you can't go too wron...

The hotel is next to Frankfurt rail station and subway. If you get out of the rail station at the north gate, you can avoid the red light district and arrive hotel with 2 minutes walk. The location is convenient but still close to red light district. I arrived Frankfurt on flight and then took on a train and then walked to the hotel. Please note that the hotel is small and its name is not obvious. It is the next to the InterCity hotel.

The room is very clean and modern. The size of room is comfortable and the room is air-conditioned. Staff are very very helpful and friendly.

There is a computer at the lobby that you can use to surf internet free of charge. There is no free wi-fi in the hotel. However, you can ask for a cable to connect your computer to surf internet.

The breakfast is nice and with much fruit. You may also have breakfast in rail station. There are many restaurants and shops in rail station.

However, the hotel requires EURO 5 deposit for borrowing an adapter.

With the train station right across the street and the airport reachable in 15 minutes from there, this is The Place to stay if you're passing through Frankfurt. The design of this hotel is modern without being cold--and our room was one of our favorites from a recent 2 1/2 week trip. The staff are nice; the breakfast is not especially memorable. The main selling point here are the fine rooms and the location, ideal for travelers. We'll be back.

Booked through their website. You get a discount if you pay full price in advance. Rooms are extremely clean and efficient, though rather small. Quick check-in and check-out. Extremely well located, not even 2 minutes walking distance from Frankfurt Main Station. Rooms are soundproof, so no noise can be heard from the pretty busy street and nearby trains. FYI, air condition only starts working not immediately but after about five minutes once you've plugged your room key into the AC slot. I was briefly afraid that air conditioning did not work until it finally worked out perfectly five minutes later.
The only drawback : the included breakfast was very limited in terms of variety (I can just assume that, because of the extreme heat in Frankfurt during my stay, some products could not be offered to avoid any premature spoiling) and coffee was average (not to say bad).
Finally, bed was rather soft, which I normally don't like, but I was so tired I didn't really care about it (for all I wanted was full functionning air conditioning).

This hotel was in a quiet road beside Frankfurt railway station. The room was a good size, comfortable bed and air con when hot. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Nice breakfast room and good breakfast. In all good value, in a small hotel that was decorated in modern styling.
