“Home in Frankfurt”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2011

I've stayed here several different different times recently, in a different grade room each time. Great place! The new executive rooms are amazing, but all the rooms are nice. Eat in the restuarant: the 45 euro set menu, inclusive of wine, mineral water, and coffee, is a good way to go. The U-bahn, (U4, in direction of Bockenheimer Warte, Festhalle/Messe stop) puts you directly across the street, and is only one stop away from the Hauptbahnhof. (DO NOT confuse this with the S-bahn Messe stop (S4) - it's a long ways away!) The staff treat you well and are helpful. Also - you may wish to allow a little extra check-out time. It can be busy, and if you have a connection to make, you don't want to get worried. Overall, you can't go wrong with this place.

Very nice comfortable hotel, right across the road from the Frankfurt Messe. Great when you plan to attend a trade fair.
The room was huge, the bathroom was as big as our entire room in Paris!. They were very good about replacing towels etc - in fact there were more than the usual amount of clean towels provided.
Our only issue was the european idea of single duvets on a very large king size bed. but having said that they were nice and clean and fresh - just something we were not used to.
Highly recommended

This is a very upmarket hotel, but the rooms cost less than a 3 star hotel in Australia.

The room was incredibly huge. There was a separate room for the wardrobe.

The bathroom has a biday which is probably the best way to describe how upmarket it is.

Staff very friendly and courteous.

Best advice I can give is to let the staff help you. I'm talking about the porters, doorman, valet, etc. (It works out cheaper in the long run)

The only downside would be the cost of breakfast. Well... it is a champagne breakfast.

The elevator doesn't go to the top floor and the water pressure isn't as good at the top floor.

Room Tip: Any room not on the top floor, i.e. 8th floor

We were very impressed with the excellent service level at the hotel. Rate included internet, minibar, hospitality cocktails, turndown service, and fresh fruit. Room was nicely appointed, and bathroom was very spacious, unusual for European hotels. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel restaurant - an excellent three course menu and the price included iwine. We regret that we were only able to stay one night!

Excellent location just opposite the fair entrance of messe frankfurt, of this beutiful hotel with warm atmosphere. The best hot chocolate i ever drunk. Breakfast very qualitative but expensive. They offered free internet and mini bar filled up every day. We stayed for 10 days in a suite and it was ideal for us that there was a separate bathroom and toilet room a siiting area and a bedroom.

Very bad impression made to us that the baby cot did not have a matress!!-had to put duvet and blankets in order for the baby to sleep. Also the cleaning of the room was inadequate, carpet had stains and looked dirty. Bear in mind that a nursery school is opposite the hotel and kids are very noisy during evening hours - they kept waking up the baby every day.

From the moment I arrived, it was apparent that no attention to detail was spared. The staff are courteous, impeccably attired and welcoming. The room was in very good condition and the bed comfortable.

Checking in and out was almost instantaneous, with no waiting. The only possible criticism was that the WiFi connection was slow. I'll take a cable next time.

I have rated the Hessischer Hof as excellent because of its staff more than anything else.

Room Tip: Tryo to get a room that's not facing the main road.

We booked at the Hessischer Hof because they were the only quality hotel in Frankfurt who didn't try and charge silly money for our 7 and 5-year-old girls. In fact the girls stayed free, had their own proper beds and the Executive room was large enough for all four of us to live very comfortably.

We were already very happy with the discounted weekend rate but then we found that there was a bowl of fresh fruit in the room each morning and the minibar was fully stocked and.....FREE! I had to check at Reception that we hadn't heard wrong, but yes we were welcome to help ourselves to the contents of the minibar at no extra charge!

There were enough channels on the TV to keep the kids happy, the bathroom was fabulous and enormous, the safe in the room was large enough to store my laptop in and the permanent bed was a super-king (6 feet) and very comfortable indeed.

The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always with a smile on their faces, as were the porters, and the U-bahn station (Festhalle/Messe) is just across the road so with a group pass everywhere in the city was totally accessible. Frankfurt is not the most beautiful city in the World, but there is plenty of interest and we can recommend the 100 minute boat trip on the river Main.

We would recommend the Hessischer Hof without hesitation and will return when we next visit Frankfurt.

Room Tip: Go for the Executive room on a weekend discount rate
