“Good fish and sushi at the fishmarket”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

Henssler & Henssler is a great place to go for fish and sushi, all with an oriental twist. The food and service are really good. It's like London's Wagamama chain: you sit on benches at long tables, with the kitchen behind a counter. It's a great neighborhood to walk along the river before or after you eat.

“Good sushi place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

Food hall style sushi place. No view. Good sushi. Friendly staff. Busy- not the place for a romantic dinner. Can recommend it for business or informal eating.

“What a treat when it comes to TASTE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

Amazing sushi experience is guarenteed here. Be bold and order 'Sushi Mixed' which is the chef's selection !
Also option for meat dishes.

Cute restaurant scene in one of the old fish auction halls -themed in white, black and red.
However the reastuarant is very noisy when it is full.

Reservation recomended (both lunch and dinner) !

“Magic HH”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

Fantastic Hamburg restaurant !!

HH for HH
Great atmosphere, and unique menu.
Like most restaurants in Hamburg very low turnover in staff.
I always go there for lunch, because I don't plan ahead and its very difficult to get a table in the evening, because its so popular.
Much more than sushi.
GREAT !!!!!

“Great sushi, for real”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013 via mobile

I dined here on my business trip to Hamburg, it was a formal dinner with a customer. This place is an elegant Japanese restaurant, and it is very popular because the owner is a famous chef who does TV shows in Germany. No wonder this place is always packed, we had to book a table at 9:30 pm on a Tuesday night.
Reception and service are extremely professional. They stored our coats and showed us to our table, the waiter was very courteous and explained all the specialties. They were not intrusive but were always there for you, even if you didn’t notice. As soon as my wine glass was empty, our waiter immediately showed up with more.
We ordered the Hennsler & Hennsler sushi, sashimi and tempura mix. It was served on a huge bamboo boat, loaded with delicious raw fish. There was more than enough for the four of us. There was normal sushi and sashimi, plus other specialties which I do not know. I didn’t eat much of the sushi because I can’t eat seaweed, but I had plenty of sashimi and it was all mouthwatering. The fish, mainly salmon and tuna (but there was also a kind of fish which I didn’t know) was either raw or just lightly seared and smothered with delicious sauces, some of which spicy. I tried to eat everything using only sticks, that was tricky but I managed. They will also provide standard cutlery anyway. We ordered a bottle of white wine which was also very good.
Prices are high at this restaurant, but the quality of the fish is very high, it’s really fresh and well cooked.
