“Luxurious comfort 3 blocks from the train station.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Everything is high spec here. Very large room, very large bathroom with bath tub and separate multi-head shower. Great amenities, excellent bed, very quiet. The lobby is ultra chic, staff are attentive and truly friendly. It is also very close to the St Georg area, with its many boutiques and restaurants, favoured by the LGBT community, professionals and others.

Room Tip: Can't image a bad room in this hotel!

Stayed here for five nights during a trade show. We scored a great rate on the ninth floor which features rooms with two stories of floor to ceiling windows and a killer view over the lake. Oddly, the room is spacious but not well designed for two people but who cares with a view like that. The restaurant is on the same floor. We ate dinner there several times as well as breakfast. Fantastic service and food. This hotel is on a busy street bordering the lake but there is a neighborhood just a few blocks behind the hotel with cafes. Also very close to the central train station which is an attraction all in itself. This was our second stay in Hamburg. While we like the location of the Fairmont better, we would return to this hotel again for the special lake view rooms on the night floor.

Room Tip: As said, ninth floor lake view rooms are special.

Ideally situated within a 20-25 minute walk to the CCH Congress Center. Also very close 5 minute walk to many restaurants, metro and shops. Hotel was happy to exchange USD to EUR at a decent rate. This was my first visit to Hamburg and made the mistake of not bringing enough Euro's, credit cards are not accepted many places. This Starwood hotel is a great choice.

Le Meridien Hamburg is a great hotel to stay in whether you are coming for business or for pleasure.

It is quite central and facing the water, which makes every get together at the top restaurant or bar a lovely experience with a great view and a good offering.

There is a small fitness center, pool and spa that compliment the needs of the business and leisure traveler. It would be better if the spa's treatment rooms were more insulated against the noise coming in from the pool area.

I had a sixth floor garden-view room that was spacious and very comfortable to work or relax in. Bathroom is quite spacious and the overall feeling of the rooms is relaxing.

The staff at front desk and restaurants were very friendly and helpful.

All in all, a great hotel

Room Tip: The higher rooms water-view

Location is good, just a 5 min walk to central station, but not in the city center shopping area.
The service need improvement, in things like SPG recognition, I saw no bell man, no concierge.
BUT the staff in the skybar is great!
Bar and restaurant: stylish and high class but a bit too small bar, and a beautiful restaurant with nice breakfast.
Platinum upgrade was tricky, they upgraded to a "Alster view deluxe room". The ambassador always ask for suites, they had suites, but when i asked for they told me that the suites are located in the back, means a bad building view. no one understands that there are many starwood properties with suites that have worst views than standard rooms, maybe because some properties are very old and build like this.
Location: 4/5
Spa/Fitness: 3/5
good: steam room, sauna, but too small and the gym looks and feels like build in a garage.
Breakfast buffet: 4 /5
Vegetarian/Vegan options 3/5
Value for money: 2/5
Platinum Upgrade: 2/5
Platinum Ambassador special request recognition: 1/5
What’s missing?
SPG recognition

All in all: need some improvement, it's the only Starwood property in Hamburg, that's why we'll come back, not because we really feel like to...

Stayed here for three nights, the location is good with views across the lake at breakfast time, breakfast is nice with lots of choice but at 30 euros if not in your room rate a bit expensive. The rooms are good with a lighted feature over the bed and a walk in shower which has the option to turn into a power shower.wi if was good and free during my stay,
The staff were professional and helpful, dinner was nice overlooking the lake but a little pricey but good quality and service.i have stayed in several hotels in Hamburg and this is one of the best, rooms had safe and mini bar.The restaurant and small adjoining bar are at the top of the hotel with great views at night giving additional atmosphere.
