“Spacious and clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

This hotel surprised us because of the room size. We had a standard room, but with seperate bed- and large livingroom. There was even a kitchenette with a small bar. The room and bathroom were clean and smart. We stayed as tourists and visited the cities famous attractions (using the subway system, which is perfect!), but don't forget the neighborhood around the hotel itself. We found it has a relaxt and welcoming atmosphere.

Downsides:
Breakfast is expensive (it is a short walk to two different Subway stations - one at the Feldstrasse and station 'Messe' - and during the short walk to them you'll find much cheaper and excellent options)
Our double bed was small (in guess 160 cm?).

All in all it was a comfortable stay and would recommed anyone to stay at this hotel.

Lobby is a bit plain, but the rooms were very large. I had a bar-kitchenette but no TV in the living room. Large flat screen in the bedroom with a hge bed. Bathroom was spacious with an alcove. My only problem was there was no room safe. Breakfast was very good. Staff were very friendly.

A good hotel.

Context:

We were 10 guys out on a lads' weekend. I'm used to staying at the high end hotels, but on occasions like this the group are just keen to get somewhere economical and close to the bars.

Hotel / rooms:

The hotel is clean and fairly modern. As mentioned by other reviewers, the rooms are surprisingly large for a hotel at this level in the market, effectively a sort of suite with a sitting room and bar. The single beds are very narrow, but that is fairly typical for this sort of German hotel. There was a pull-out sofa-bed in the living room, though, which was a better shout than the actual bed.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Midday checkout was very welcome! Indeed the staff did not bat an eyelid when some of our group sheepishly checked out at nearly 3pm after a heavy night on the tiles.

Location:

On a fairly pleasant, slightly residential area, with St Pauli football stadium and some nice parks across the road. About a 5-10 minute walk to the Reeperbahn, but importantly - not actually on the Reeperbahn (which is grim). About a 15 minute walk in the other direction will take you to the more civilised Neustadt (which also has some really good bars, if you know where to find them).

I was in this hotel 3 nights on a business trip. I have visited many 4 stars hotels in Hamburg during the last weeks and I would never recommend this hotel. The only good thing about this hotel is that the rooms are big. Other than that, the rooms are boring, the hotel does not have a restaurant or room service and the staff is not especially friendly.
As I said, there are plenty of 4 stars hotels in Hamburg that offer a much better quality/price relation.

Stayed for a few days with friends.

It's modern, spacious and clean. It's also in a great location, across the road from the showgrounds and a short walk to the Reeperbahn area!

There were a couple of annoying things worth mentioning. The beds are TINY. If you roll over you will fall out! And the air-conditioning didn't work. Fortunately the large windows open up, allowing fresh air but this also means noise.

Other than this, it's a good value place in a great location. I think I would stay here again.

Finally, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We were six friends staying here last year. The hotel is situated perfectly near the great St. Pauli area. All of us were very pleased with the rooms and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I can highly recommend this excellent hotel if you want a nice stay in Hamburg.

The first NH I stayed in, and it lead me to getting a NH card, as I enjoyed it so much. Thus far, it's been the best NH I've stayed in. The location is good. The hotel layout is good. The staff are helpful. The rooms are amazing.
