“Nice!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

Very good location, just perfect. Loved thhe breakfast-big selection and very "Marriott" style. Rooms are bit outdated, but is fine. If you dive- you may either use Park and Ride (P&R) or to park at the Hotel
In general 8 out of 10 points. Great Xmas markets within walking distance. Best time to visit

Room Tip: High floor

I stayed here on business and its note quite as nice as the Marriott around the corner but its excellent value for money.

The staff are extremely friendly and derive you quickly.

The rooms are large and spotless

I would recommend it to people

But I may try somewhere else as it didn't offer me anything to rush back.

The down side is that the wifi is €12 per day! Rubbish

Excellent hotel situated in the heart of Hamburg close to shopping in Neuer Wall and close to the lake and Rathausplatz. All within walking distance.

Very small reception and lobbybar not that interesting. We were upgraded to a junior suite. Not different from a regular room except for the size. NO minibar! The room was well funished although style was a little oldfashioned.

Breakfast restaurant very average for a luxuryhotel.

Didn't quiet get the feeling of german hospitality and service like on Mariott, Sofitel and Side hotel in Hamburg.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the street

The hotel lobby and restaurant are my favorite. It's clean and modern. The front desk staff are so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The restaurant has a great breakfast and good dinner. The decor is interesting since it used to be an old newspaper/publishing house. Cool history. The location is good for walking to shops and restaurants. The rooms are nice but not quite as updated as the lobby.

Stayed at this hotel for three nights for the Hamburg Christmas Markets (Weihnachtsmarkts). Room was small and very cold. No matter how high the heat was set, the floor and walls were absolutely freezing. I'm sure it's a lot nicer in the summer and the hotel does have some nice attributes (location, staff, who were very nice), but I think next time I'll look for another property.

Room Tip: Don't get one with more than one outside wall in the winter.

The hotel is built in an old publishing house and has an impressive brick facade. Interior unfortunately is pretty std hotel stuff. This hotel represents solid Marriott/Renaissance quality. The beds are among the best in the industry and the rooms nice and quiet. Size of the rooms is slightly on the bigger side in Europe, furnitures are more functional than impressive. A good sized bathroom with tub.

The hotel has an A+ location. Just a few mins stroll from the Binnenalster and S-Bahn from the airport. Shopping district is literally at the doorstep and Rathaus a few mins away.

Hotel buffet breakfast is great, but see that you have it included in the rate. Separately it's 28 €, and it's not quite that great.

The only thing that needs fixing is the elevator system. Just 2 elevators and on a busy time they congest.
