A great park for families and couples. There are concerts in the park in the evening and lovely plants and flowers to enjoy during the day.

“A free park that is as nice as those you pay for”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

I've been through this park in all seasons, and all seasons the park has something to offer. Well tended gardens, water areas, water shows at night-- ice cream stops. There are a variety of entertainment, styles of agriculture and experiences to see.

“Huge inner city gardens.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

Planten und Blomen are a collection of formal laid out gardens set out in various styles over several elevations. They stretch from St Pauli to the Damtor station taking in the Messe areas right up to the TV tower. This is a very large area and my advice is make sure you have a map and make a plan of where you intend to start and end your visit, otherwise you will "run out of gas".
The effort will be worthwhile as these are some of the most beautiful gardens you could wish to see. There really is something for everyone from quiet seated areas to kids playgrounds. The university hot house is free to enter and very impressive. As with everywhere in Germany you will also find Cafes and plenty of information. One could easily spend a full day exploring if you are fit enough.
Highly recommended
