“Very calm and serene place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

Loved the way it is designed. The landscape is amazing and you can see a lot of variety of flowers. Not just the landscape, even the waterscape is wonderful - with artificial lakes, Lilly-ponds and what not. I could find some rare species of flowers too.

What more, the restaurants in the garden are really affordable. If you are there in the evening in summer, you can catch the live concerts also. Excellent place to spend entire day, just watching the city pass by.

Wandered through at my own pace on way to city. Lots of park benches that are great when it's sunny. Very peaceful

“A gem in the centre of Hamburg.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

A real treasure in the midst of the vibrant city of Hamburg. This beautifully landscaped park provides places for both recreation and relaxation. Just stroll along the paths alongside idyllic streams and lakes, pass waterfalls and fountains or wander through the themed gardens; the fragrant rose garden where piped music plays every 30 minutes; the amazing botanic hot house with its different climate zones and the impressive Japanese garden and Tea House. Numerous benches are dotted alongside the colourful flower beds. There is also an impressive play area for children and activities for teenagers.
Don't miss the Water Light Concerts every evening in the summer. The colourful play of light on the water fountains which play in time to the accompanying music is truly spectacular and is a very popular free show with both visitors and locals.

“The music and lights show is a don't miss!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

A beautifully landscaped park in Central Hamburg. Very relaxing and great seating but the highlight was definitely the music and lights show that is on in the summer months at 9pm. The fountains are lit up in fabulous colours and shoot out in time to classical music. It goes on for abo
It 30 mins and is completely free. Great stuff!

“Large, beautiful garden park in Hamburg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

Planten un Blomen (plants and flowers, in local dialect) is, in my view, the best tourist attraction in Hamburg. It is a kind of crossing between a botanical garden and a large public park. The best time to visit it is in mid-spring, when there are excellent flower exhibitions. It lies in front of the Dammtor railway and subway station.
