We chose to dine at Casa Di Roma on our last evening in Hamburg. The food was good but the place really let itself down when it came to service. Our waiter spent most of his time attending to a table of guests who appeared to be regulars at the restaurant, and who were also choosing some pretty expensive wines. We waited about 45 minutes between starter and main course, as did several other tables around us, including a birthday party, with our empty plates in front of us as the waiter conversed with his favourite guests. When we asked for the mains he said "2 more minutes" and we waited a further 10.
We would have liked a dessert but we couldn't be bothered to wait so the restaurant lost business as a result.
When asked about our experience by another waiter as we paid the bill we received an apology and a Ramazzotti as compensation, which was nice but the overall experience was poor.
The food quality was excellent but it's not the cheapest so go to this restaurant if you've got plenty of time on your hands, you're not to bothered about service and you've got a few £/$/Euros in the bank to spare. I, however, will not be returning.
