The location wasn't brilliant but for the price was a tolerable walk from the U-Bahn. If heavy cases, I'd suggest a taxi to the door.
The Staff were lovely, some more so than others but overall was a pleasure walking past reception.
All rooms were facing a busy dual carriageway so had the attendant ongoing noise, the windows had very poor sound proofing so the noise was unavoidable unless you had some decent ear plugs. Everything felt as if it was done on the cheap from an Ikea remainder sale, INTERNET ACCESS IS CHARGED for which struck me a little abnormal nowadays. Free internet access in the lobby was allegedly available but over the almost week I was there it never worked once.
The rooms were once bright and inviting but mine was grubby, the cleaners only role it seemed was to come in every morning and rearrange things for no apparent reason - i actually noticed the same crisp particle was welcoming me every evening yet the cleaner had obviously been in as they managed to move my hung towels to different locations etc, no idea why.
It seems standard that the blinds don't close fully on the outside, a nice opportunity for the occupants in the facing appartment block to be voyeurs but not so nice for the hostel residents, it also lets the sun in every morning so a little tough if you were planning a lie-in.
Unless desperate, I can't see me staying in an A&O Hostel again.
