“German comfort food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011 via mobile

This is not a trendy place. It is a typical German restaurant and the clientele avg age was 70-something at the time of my visit. Food was glorious and it came in large portions. I had the Marktsteller, which I highly recommend.

booked in advance via email. Table was reserved when we arrived. good menu and in english. Hotel is very oldy worldy in the picturesque Schnoor district. Food was extremely well cooked with excellent service. Good value for money and definately worth a visit.

“A lovely (and delicious) spot!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2011

Matching perfectly with the medieval neighbourhood of historical Schnoorviertel, Beck's in Snoor turns out to be a great spot to taste northern German cuisine (in large portions)! At first glance, being in the turist trail, you must think that is a trap... but in a closer look to the menu... prices are inviting! Once inside, warming up and fighting the negative degrees felt outside (we went on December), it's already positive (!!!). The menu offered a nice selection of meat and fish, offering also, at lunch, some special dishes of the day.
The only thing that could have been better, was the service...a little slow for the number of guests sitting, but, definately, a place to go!

“Surprisingly pleasant experience in a main tourist's draw”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2010

On our first evening in Bremen we followed the tourist trek and had dinner in the historical Schnoorviertel among many other visitors. Keeping an eye open for some decent Northern German food we spotted an inviting place in a corner in this restaurant which evidently caters for tourists as part of the Beck's brewery empire.

My slight misgivings about maybe falling into a tourist trap luckily turned out to be unfounded. We had a friendly waiter and surprisingly well-done food in Northern German style - more or less the same choices as all restaurants of this type in Bremen, but better executed than in some. The only drawback was a somewhat slow service for the drinks, caused somewhere at the bar.

In summary, Beck's in'n Snoor does not really stick out for atmosphere or food, but you could easily do worse than have your lunch or dinner here.

“Fantastic! Super!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2010

This is the place to eat in Bremen! You will love not only the atmosphere but the food and the service. Authentic dishes which brought back memories of my Grossmama's cooking. Too delicious to describe. You simply must try it to believe it.
