“A little gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2015 via mobile

We stumbled across this place one evening and we really felt like we struck it lucky! The food was truly delicious and on top of that we were incredibly pleasantly surprised when the bill came. We shared olives and ricotta starters, then had two of the special pasta dishes from the blackboard and had vin santo for dessert! The food is some of the nicest Italian I have ever had.
The kitchen is small and the choices limited, that makes for great dishes all round!
I would book a table as we were exceptionally lucky to get seated.

“Very cozy and affordable restaturant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2015

This is a really great restaurant that I can highly recommend. The kitchen is serving traditional Italian dishes that are truly superb. Great wine slelection as well.

Prices are very fair.

The place is small and very popular so reserving a table should always be done beforehand.

A palce I try to visit every time I'm in Berlin.

“Cosy italian place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2015

Mädchen Italiener is a small cosy and busy place, with great food. Do make a reservation as it might otherwise be difficult to get a place. Lost of different pasta dishes on the menu; which were good and with large portions; starter of figs, parma ham and mozarella was also good; as was the panna cotta for dessert. The place is busy, so don't expect express service; however, we were completely satisfied with the food and the service. Can warmly recommend!

“Great Food, Average Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2015

Small cute restaurant near to our apartment when we were staying in Berlin.

The food smells as I entered on a cold snowy day were amazing and the food satisfied in every way. Its always a good sign to see the chefs hand preparing the food as you look into the kitchen.

The crisp gnocchi with a sage burnt butter was the best gnocchi I have ever had - the butter was burnt perfectly and the crispness of the perfect gnocchi balls and a light grating of fresh nutmeg showed the chefs know how to cook.

A second plate of simple spaghetti with a anchovy and caper berry accompaniment was also delicious.

Service was a little vacant...I stood at the counter for quite a while before the waitress happened to look up from what she was doing - odd. Prices are average for this area and there are daily specials which also looked tempting.

Definitely a recommendation for good food lovers.
