“amazing experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Experience you eill never forget. Food is average, but if you are not claustrophobic this will be a lifetime experience. We had a drink before entering at the bar where we ordered a food, try suprise menu. You can tell what food you do not eat, so avoid negative or anafilactic surprise. After that they will inform you about the number of the table and waiter name. Waiters are blind , extremely nice and helpfull (ours was Mathias). If you have any problems with darkness or have to go to the toilette just call waiter and he will help you. Food is OK, nothing superb, but everything is great experience. Recomended

“Dark restaurant where all your senses are awake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

Absolutely mandatory! In this restaurant it is all dark and the waiters are blind, they help us to know where are the dishes, the glasses, the food and the drinks. It is incredible to feel how a blind people fell. All of our senses try to become more acute.
The food is very nice and it must be booked in advanced. They have a mistery menu but they have also a la carte.
I went in a night that they did not have shows, but they have also mystery evenings, live music.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

Food was good and it was fun eating / drinking and guessing what it was in the dark. THe entertainment was a bit long when you don't speak German

“Quite an experience !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

It's a little bit expensive, but the service is excellent. We have chosen the Surprise Menu; it is interesting to try to find out was you have in your plate.
It is true that once you can not use yur sight any more, you then start using the other senses more.
We also had a great live music show.
I recommend to go there at least once.

“Good, but can't see myself going back.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012

The experience of dining in the pitch dark was better than the quality and taste of the cuisine.
We looked at the menus in the bar upstairs (which was fully lit) and were led downstairs into the basement thorough a 'light tunnel' and then into the pitch dark restaurant, it was an interesting experience. I dined with 3 others and we were led in by Silvia our blind waitress in a line with our hands on eachothers shoulders, to our table. It was laid out but we had to feel slowly for our napkins and cutlery. For 39 euros you get a choice of a meat, vegetarian or surprise menu. I chose the surprise which was a mushroom risotto with cabbage. It was too salty and we were encouraged to eat with our hands as it is difficult to use the cutlery. I feel that the foods were chosen to give us a feel for different textures and temperatures of foods, rather than for the way the food actually tasted, I didn't think the menu was worth 39 euros. However, for those who are sceptical about it being truly pitch black, i.e. to dark to see your hand infront of your face, check it out because you will be surprised.
